Pakistan takes deliveries of 3 SAAB-2000 Aircraft

. . .
The odd thing is that Indians use to dismiss saab2000 as inferior to even there su30 mini AWECs...its amazing to see thr height of their delusions ..well they got a wake up call...
They forget that in mere time of 9 years pakistan not only added half a dozen AWECs but around 180 BVR equipped 4th gen jets...this was a quantum leap in PAF capabilities

Only one will be converted to erieye, one for transport and liaison and one for training or spares.
So this means after conversion of one, PAF's fleet for Saab Awacs would count to 4? Am i right? 4 is also a good number.

The Saab Erieye Extended Range (ER) S-band active electronically scanned array (AESA) multi-mode radar that is housed in the same external dorsal ‘plank’ as the company’s original Erieye system. Equipped as it is with Gallium Nitride (GaN) and other technologies, the Erieye ER is an active electronically scanned array (ASEA) system that doubles the radar’s power efficiency compared with previous Erieye iterations. It has a range of more than 650 km which can be dramatically extended by focusing the radar’s energy.

The radar is designed to collect target data in a large air volume and across a vast surface area, in heavy clutter and jamming environments.

Saab said the Erieye ER is resistant to jamming and features all-weather functionality in all domains (air, sea, and land surveillance), and an “extremely high” tracking update rate against targets of interest.
