a$$holes... it seems like they werent in a mood to play...soft dismissals..it had more to do with pathetic shots than bad pitch...i mean just check out the shots mccullum and roy played and to top it up with the run out ..i mean that doesnt have anything to do with the pitch..

these morons are getting paid so highly n all they do is get all out on 59 .... i guess team owners and coaching staff is being complacent to them ..there should be some serious discussions...

Its sad to see that during PSL season 2 we are relying on foreign players and there are very few players from Pakistan who are performing well...sad to see the type of players coming in now a days ...where is all that talent we brag so much about?

May it be haiden's half century, smith & watson's match winning innings , Rossouw's runs feast , narine's emergence as an all rounder ...mostly everything is coming from foreign players ...

Karachi and Lahore were the most hyped teams since the inauguration of PSL and both teams sucked big time ....and to top it up ..your blood literally burns when you see shows like what ARY is airing ....

So far impressed by Quetta once again...the least hyped team ...and look the way they have performed... they mean serious business unlike Karachi and Lahore which are more into bragging stuff ....this goes especially for Karachi with that show full of bongiyan ,show offs... and self proclaimed emotionally unstable analysts like basit khan ...

Not much of crowd after opening match and lack of impressing performance from local players...its been a disappointment so far

LONDON: Britain’s National Crime Agency has arrested two men in their thirties in connection with bribery offences as part of an on-going investigation into international cricket match spot-fixing, local media reported.

The British agency said the men were arrested on Monday, but declined to name them. However, sources in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that the arrested men were former Pakistani batsman Nasir Jamshed and a person named Yousuf, who is a suspect in the PSL spot-fixing investigation.

The men were arrested on Monday, February 13 and have been released on bail until April 2017 pending further enquiries.

“As part of the on-going investigation, we are working closely with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and International Cricket Council’s (ICC) anti-corruption units. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has launched its own investigation, which has resulted in the suspension of three players,” the NCA said.

The PCB on Monday suspended opening batsman Nasir Jamshed from all formats of cricket for violating the anti-corruption code.

It is being reported that Nasir Jamshed was behind the saga, which led to the suspension of Islamabad United players Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif from PSL. The duo was suspended over their alleged meetings with members of a syndicate which aim to corrupt the Twenty20 league.

PSL final will be held in Lahore if the fans want, says Sethi

Pakistan Super League (PSL) Chairman Najam Sethi promised cricket fans in Pakistan that the PSL final will be held in the city of Lahore, even in the absence of foreign players, if the fans do not want the venue to change following Monday's bombing.

“The foreign players have refused to play the final in Lahore after Monday’s blast, but if the citizens of Pakistan want the final of PSL to be held in Lahore despite foreign players not participating in the final, then the final will be held in Lahore," said Sethi in his statement.

Sethi added that the security agencies have committed to providing full security for the final.

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said that Punjab is ready to host the final of PSL with full security and added that Lahore is safe for the players even after Monday’s bombing.

Earlier, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), before the start of the league, held a meeting with foreign players to assure them regarding security.

The final for the PSL is scheduled to be held on March 5 in Lahore and PCB have yet to announce any new dates and will decide after contacting the concern departments about security.

PCB has provisionally suspended Nasir Jamshed from all forms of cricket for violating its anti-corruption code @TheRealPCB

PCB Chairman Shehryar Khan earlier today reiterated that exemplary punishments will be handed out to players accused of corruption if they are found guilty by a tribunal.

"The PCB took the lead in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) scandal, unlike the time when the International Cricket Council (ICC) had caught three Pakistani players involved in the 2010 spot-fixing scandal," Shehryar said, commending the 'efficiency' of the PCB's Anti-Corruption Unit in dealing with last week's PSL spot-fixing scandal.

Sam Billings’ unbeaten fifty guides Islamabad united to a 5-wicket win over Quetta Gladiators in Match 7 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017. With this win, United move on to 4 points from 3 games, while the Gladiators suffer their first defeat of the tournament. Islamabad United got off to a decent start. Sam Billings scored a brilliant fifty off just 36 balls, which put United on their way. But United kept losing wickets at regular intervals right from the beginning. Dwayne Smith was the first to go for a 16-ball 10. He struggled to get going, but thankfully, Billings at the other end was accelerating well. Brad Haddin was then dismissed for 6 and then skipper Misbah-ul-Haq departed for 10. United were reduced to 72 for 3 in the 11th over. From there it was up to Billings and Shane Watson to take their side home.

United needed 36 off the final four overs, with Watson and Billings going strong. Mohammad Nawaz bowled a brilliant 16th over, giving away just three runs. From there it was up to fast bowlers Anwar Ali, Umar Gul and Thisara Perera to restrict the batsmen. But they failed to keep the batsmen down. Watson took special liking to Perera, smashing him for 4, 4 and 6 before holing out in the deep for a 27-ball 36. He added 63 runs for the fourth wicket with Billings, which put United in the driver’s seat. Billings remained unbeaten on 78 off 50 deliveries.

Pakistan fears Lahore attack may put foreign cricketers off PSL final

ISLAMABAD: Pakistanis were quick to voice fears that Monday’s explosion in Lahore could derail plans to hold the highly anticipated final of the Pakistan Super League there.

Pakistan’s international tournaments have been held abroad for years out of security fears, and the second year of the popular T20 tournament is ongoing in the UAE with the final on March 5 set for Lahore.

The PCB wanted to prove how safe Lahore is since a terrorist attack in 2009 against the Sri Lanka team put off all major international teams, and last week it guaranteed “foolproof security” for the PSL finalists.

But a bomber targeting police escorting a rally by pharmacists likely ruined those hopes.

“I wanted the whole PSL in Pakistan, not only just the final,” cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan said in Lahore on Tuesday. “But the problem is that when terrorism happens, it gets highlighted more, and foreigners get scared.”

Before the bombing, PSL chairman Najam Sethi was confident a large number of foreign players would appear in the final.

“Obviously, people will be more wary and scared they were already and now will be more,” Sethi said late on Monday.

“Now I will have to start all over again. I cannot say that we will be successful or not because [the players] have families, they will have their associations which will guide them.”

Sethi said he now wants to poll the Pakistan public, and let them decide whether they want to see the final in Lahore most likely without foreign players or Dubai again probably with overseas players.

Sethi said he still wanted Lahore to host the final, with or without foreign players.

“I want cricket lovers to tell me ... what do they want? Whatever they want, we will do,” Sethi said.
