Pakistan Spends Just 2.5% of GDP on Education

That's because 'private education' has taken over. Not much people go to public schools now.

.
A lot has to do with the lies government officials tell us. Yousuf Raza Gillani promised to raise the educationg budget to 8% which did not happen. Nawaz too speaks of tall tales over education improvement. The truth is the literacy has declined in the past few years. Its shocking, sad and surprising and it will keep happening until we keep electing idiots in government. They have no commitment to the nation.

.
We should start campaign here in PDF for make budget for education for more then 5% in next three years and this will give our economy and great boost and also improve our social factors. Its a shame that Pakistan budget never exceed 3% of GDP

Education will not give an instant boost to the economy hence no one will want to increase the budget. There is no incentive in this for the politicians.

There are those who think election to election. They are called politicians. Then there are those who think generation to generation. They are called Statesmen. Pakistan has no Statesmen.

.
The fact is that after spending on debt/interest repayments and defense expenditure, very little is left for health or education or any social development. And of what little is left, much is frittered away due to corruption, mismanagement and incompetence.

But it is good to pay lip service to such noble goals.

.
The City School is taking 10,000/month fees for class one. Transport and other daily activities are excluded..
exactly. Thats 100 dollars a month for a child of year one.
Where else in the wold people spend that much on education?

. . .
This is the measure of how much the Government (Federal, Province, Local) spends on Education, not how much the individual spends.

. .
In Pakistan 95% education is private, so this 2.5% surely has little share in education level of Pakistan
