Pakistan should stop its UN missions!

Why do we have to send our valuable soldiers down to Africa only to feed some hungry Africans?! Don't we have enough problems in our country? We should stop or at least decrease our effort for UN and concentrate on the Tribal Areas

The BD military was threatened just before 1/11 change-over that if the army intervened in politics they would not be allowed to participate in UN peace keeping operations.

Predictably the army buckled under the pressure and gave power to a weak caretaker government that solved nothing for 2 years.

The number of troops sent in UN missions are very small.It is humanitarian mission.Pakistan is getting the blessing of those poor people as well as earning some money.This is good for Pakistan.Same case here in Bangladesh.

I don't think these 9 or 10 thousand soldiers would make any major difference in the tribal areas.

For Pakistan it is not a big deal since they have an army of 500 000.

To some degree, that might be a good idea. But on the other hand, Morally, maybe these unselfish actions by our people are the reason that's kept Pakistan together and united for so long. The poor people of those undeveloped countries place the Pakistani forces and their efforts next to the best thing there is in their life. If WE bail out on them, who's going to take our place? Israel?

Brother! Army will not appreciate this as their men are getting 10 times more salary in UN mission.
I think it is one of the reason,that Pakistan is major contributor in UN peace keeping missions. BUt if they refuse that will be a major set back for UN peace keeping Missions

Pakistan is highest at contributing troops currently,Bangladesh is second.
The money they are getting,really helped BD's economy.I think it had the same effect on Pakistan's economy.

Yeah some countries got the repotation while other got some scandles.

Indian peacekeepers gave arms back to rebels for Blood Diamonds and Sri Lankans were charged with rape.No offence to members of India and Sri Lanka.

So far BD personnel is clean Alhamdulillah,let's hope it stays that way.

Alhumdullilah they made their repute too.. yeah i heared about indians, in congo they were involved in some sex scandals also in some gold scandals.
but never heared any srilankan scandal....
