Pakistan sends relief good for China's flood-hit victim
Pakistan on Friday sent relief goods to China for the affectees of devastating floods that have killed more than 500 people, the Foreign Office said.
A C-130 carrying relief items comprising 150 tents, 1000 blankets, 5 Metric Tons rice and 200,000 water purifying tablets departed for Urumqi, the ministry statement said.
In a ceremony held at Pakistan Air Force Base, Chaklala, the Foreign Secretary Riaz Mohammad Khan handed over the relief assistance goods to Chinese Ambassador, Luo Zhaohui.
Senior Officials of the Chinese Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also present on the occasion.
Recent floods in China have caused widespread damage.
More than 500 people have died and over 200,000 displaced.
Earlier, in a message to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz had conveyed deep condolences of the Government and people of Pakistan over precious loss of lives and immense destruction caused to property from recent floods in China.
