Pakistan seeks Russian help in modernizing engine repair facilities & attain RD93 repair capability

India won't allow it, and worse- will sabotage it after making you spend a lot of money.

Realistically speaking.

No, not one chance in a million. We won't let it happen.

It could be a wish and i respect it but the ground realities are vastly changing.

1) Russia is angry with Indian because India is closing with USA specially in military tech and strategic moves.
2) Russia wants new buyers to support its economy Pakistan and Iran are the lucrative one.
3) Russian wants to be the part of CPEC and central asian network with CPEC. They have already shown their interest.
4) Pakistan is getting much importance because of its location and that is the reason that China USA and Russia all are friends of Pakistan hence Pakistan has much more option than ever. its happening first time in the history.
5) PAF will at least have 150 jets with rd 93 so obviously Russia will never let this chance go.
6) As far as sabotash is concerned it should have happened when Russia agreed with China to supply the engine to Pakistan. Not only that now Russia has agreed to supply engines directly to Pak and now its one step ahead to established the repair facility just like they established the SU 30 facility in India.

Yawn.... If one doesn't build any engine in the past doesn't mean it can't do in the Future... How many Engines India is building for the Jets? No wonder half of your Su-30 is grounded

even raptors are also grounded, it is not unusual thing... the point is sharing engine technology is huge thing.... even China with massive Russian tech and supplies got trouble in making of jet engine... just saying, you are no China...

just take some burnol from nearby pharmacy..some butthurt creme will help also. Store and stock them. You will need a lot more in near future...just remember one thing India is dependent on Russia and not the vice versa.

Pak wishes.... but the question is Russia willing to help? ?

RD 93 is not the best Russian engine so Russia might be convinced to give us the technology for this engine if we try hard enough. Besides Chinese engines are also an option.

If Engine technology is about shared just cos it was developed 2 decades back, India would have 3-4 working engines now.
The compressor, blades technologies are so guarded. Even the Chinese having problems with engines with all its spies and reverse engineering must give you an idea of the problem

Actually we effectively sabotaged any pretalk with 70000 crore INR order less than a week back :D

It is called after sell service and why not Russia see export market of JF17 and if engine is Russian then indirectly it will help Russia in both way. Politically and economically

To be precise,Pakistan is requesting overhaul facility for RD-93 within Pakistan

who says it's not our business? You sign a 25 Billion dollar deal and the watch tech transfer to an adversary twiddling your thubms, and then come and lecture us.

Real Question why so scared of a Fighter plane which you dont consider to be a match for any in your current inventory ?
if Russian sell us Advance Engine than why Indian's have to wet their pants ?? its just a Engine after of all , and that also be of Maamuli JF-17 , your tejas can beat JF anytime ..aye ?

An engine repair facility does not mean that we are being transferred the tech of the engine. IMHO, this will basically be an engine overhaul facility. Exactly like the F-16's PW F-100 engine overhaul facility that we have in PAC, which also upgraded all our F-16's 200 type engines to 220E type engines. This facility is no big deal.

Weren't you gonna not let us buy the engines in the first place? Were never gonna allow it? Like ever? What about the incoming attack helis?

India doesn't have the stones or the muscle to allow or deny anyone jack squat...

who gave you the idea that it had anything to do with JF 17. We just cut a cheque for 25 Billion. We'd need any and all competitive advantage from Russian tech to come to us- including by denying any parts that are coming to you. You guys wanna otherwise build up your pet jet to mythical status that's your project.

India signed deals for billions of dollars for defence equipment from USA.

Lobbying hard against Pakistan, but unable even to stop the offer for F16/Cobras.

Indians = :undecided: :argh: :blah: :pissed: and usually failed then the last episod :laughcry:.

Russia-Pakistan Military Cooperation Not Threatening Relations With India
“As we know, a Russian engine is being installed on the JF-17 Thunder and we are looking forward to further cooperation with the engine manufacturer in Russia,” the Pakistani official told RIA Novosti news agency on the sidelines of the 2015 Dubai Air Show on Monday.
The PAC representative expressed interest in having Pakistani engine specialists undergo training in Russia and their Russian colleagues helping modernize the company’s engine-repair facilities in Pakistan.

The JF-17 all-weather multirole fighter, jointly developed by Pakistan and China’s Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corporation, is currently being modified with a Russian-made RD-93 engine.

Founded in 1971 by the Pakistan Air Force, the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex is a major aerospace, defense, aviation contractor and military corporation producing aerial systems for both military and civilian usage.

Great progress is being made in Russo-Pak relations at break neck speed.

RD-93 is only available option for JFT & PAF is satisfy with RD-93. CHINESE WS-13 will be an option when it will be available.

He does not need to, as being a graduate in metallurgical engineering from IIT Bombay himself, he is well aware that for a country to even dream of Designing and Manufacturing Jet engines it needs a strong Industrial and Research base in the country. Pakistan does not even qualify in any of these conditions.
The fatel End of KAVERI is best exampl.

The fate of KAVERI with Your all know how & your 70000 crores INR was flashed after you forced to imort American engines for Teja, PAF achived the target with sucess in shape of JFT as multi role fighter and enterd in aBlock III phase we can achived self reliane in the engine making but when it will be profirable for us.

The matter I am trying to tell was Jet Engine Technology is so coveted, that even Russians wont share the most intricate of such technologies. Chinese having problems with their engines is a proof of development of a engine.

In such a scenario how can you even think Russia will share the Engine Tech with you? Even for RD93
