you dont need to worry about us. We will be out of the mess. Worry about yourself. Your fragile country was held by veneer of secularism which is fast thinning off due to extremist policies of your nationalistic government. We are financial mess but our fundamentals are strong. Change the system into Presidential system and get direct Presidential election. Even local election should also be a direct election as well with governor, major are elected directly, not only parliament members.

This will make political parties try to find the best and popular person among the people and must compromise their oligarch behavior. And then set up Independent Anti Corruption Body and Special Anti Corruption Court with credible judges (civil society will have a say on who should be a judge).

In Indonesia we also can elect Governor from Independence candidate and even win very importance province like West Java. Ridwan Kamil from Independence candidate (West Java Governor) is one of our potential President for 2024 election

I don't think anything will work with Pakistan... Pakistan's ailment needs major surgery... Pakistan's awam are yet to identify the ailment... As outsiders we can suggest lot of things, but Pakistanis have to assess and implement...

Point being France could easily have snubbed us and there isnt a damn thing we could have done other than making sure we dont fall short on our payment, but they didnt meaning they also know to keep politics and business separate. The Chinese authorities asked for additional guarantee mechanism after Islamabad sought debt relief from G-20 countries, which was only meant for poorest nations of the world.

The G-2- nations have also imposed conditions that the poor countries would not secure expensive commercial loans, except those allowed under the IMF-WB framework.

The Chinese authorities have proposed that “keeping in view the financial situation in Pakistan so also the conditions laid down by the G-20 regulations for debt suspension, the government of Pakistan may provide additional guarantee mechanism for the loan other than sovereign loan for the ML-1 project”, according to officials privy to these negotiations.

It’s a harsh truth isn’t it, we can sell anything for bucks. Especially our military elite and bureaucrats. Through few Billions at them, they will call Israel iron brother.

The thing is that Pakistani diaspora already go out of their way to supply much needed foreign exchange and remittances to the state of Pakistan. I know how much I send back home every month to support family. These amounts annualized are far more than what the PM or his advisors expected would be sufficient if every expat were to make a one-time payment of in service of the country. The point being, this is not the way to save the country.

The government has taken quite a few positive but unpopular steps to correct trade imbalances and help get us some more financial stability. We need that stability to persist, and then balance it with as much sustainable economic growth as we can manage.

If say 10 years from now, we have a stable political system with a credible government that foreigners don't view with some trust, as well as a system in which investors can have certainty, better established rule of law, and slow but sustainable growth... then we would need no foreign loans, any aid we would get would be nice to have, but not necessary. Only then you can take principled stances on matters when you feel compelled to.

However, this is hugely unpopular
Keeping a surplus means printing no notes(state bank lending) and real growth through foreign investment or local SAVINGs(rather then stimulus note printing).

It also mean killing off subsidies.

Common middle class will not take this hence either this govt and historically the PMLN PPPP govt will scumb to this poltical pressure start heaving lending and will ultimately make things same as we saw in last 40 years
Having said that we are on right track..if we keep course for 10 years things will change

Honestly feeling disappointed and sad for Pakistan. How long it will be like this?? Hope CPEC after almost 7 yrs gives the fruits of your investment and Pak is out of this mess..

Honestly, personally I don't give a ball-oxe about the bailouts. In no way does it reduce Pakistan. Countries like Greece which are first world and Indian's, Pakistani's risk lives to escape to are 10 times in bigger debt than Pakistan.

What to is of more import is -

• improve literacy
• ban most madaris
• move 99% of focus on religious education to scientific, technical education.
• for every Quran hafiz Pakistan must produce 100 scientists, engineers or STEM experts.
• recognize Israel
• move away from a pathetic, dogmatic outlook to realpolitical outlook
• try find a niche in global economy
• be seen aas a global economic power than a religious hotbed
• improve peoples acces to health

If this is done the even if Pakistan becomes indebted to Israel all is fine because one day she will graduate to higher developed country.

When it comes to international relations, politics and business are one and the same.

France isn't doing this out of the goodness of its heart, it's doing this to regain the trust it lost in the muslim world, because of Macron's idiotic wording (his speech writers and aids should have been fired).

Make no mistake, every actions that developed nations take, they take out of consideration for cost to benefit. If France thought they'd gain nothing, they would have told Pakistan "no".
