Islamabad: Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said Friday that two navy officers, who had been involved in a recent terrorist attack on navy targets, have fled the country.

A navy officer and three attackers had been killed in the attack on the Karachi Dockyard in the port city of Karachi Sep 6 after militants breached the navy defence with inside help, Xinhua reported.

Pakistani Taliban and the newly launched Al Qaeda India branch had separately claimed responsibility for the attack.

The minister said security forces have arrested nine people, including navy officers, who have been arrested.

He said two officials of the Pakistan Navy, one commissioned and the other non-commissioned officer, who were also involved in the attack, have fled the country, probably to neighbouring Afghanistan.

"The fleeing navy officers were last located near the Afghanistan border," the minister told reporters at the parliament building in Islamabad.

He said there are evidences that outsiders were also involved in the attack, adding that scrutiny is being held to find out such elements in the security forces and the threats will be eliminated soon.

The security forces last week arrested three navy officers in the southwestern Quetta city who were trying to flee the country. One former naval officer who was expelled from the Navy in 2013 was also found involved in this incident. He was killed in exchange of fire.

The attackers, some wearing suicide jackets, had planned to capture a Pakistani ship, and to destroy an American ship in the sea.

it is getting murkier day by day. first they tried to hide the incident now this new revelations.

To the best of my knowledge, no such news has appeared in the Pakistani print/electronic media. We need to wait for the ISPR statement on this.

Khwaja Asif said that nine accused involved in Karachi Dockyard attack have been arrested while two serving officers of Pakistan Navy who were allegedly involved in terrorist attack have fled the country.

Well mate, you don't need to worry yourself to death over these things. The details are under wraps for apparent strategic reasons!

Yeah when your Submarine blew up on it's own(reason not clear ;could be anything)...This is of particular concern to us and the whole world as possession of Nuclear submarine and Tendency of Indian submarines to spontaneous blowing up can cause Nuclear War...I think you should address our these concerns...

As I said, don't kill yourself over extra ordinary hypothetical situations.

All the conspirators are either dead or, are in custody, "company" is preempting a habeas corpus bid from the relatives of the fckers. They will likely face capital punishment for treason in a court martial.

No matter where they are, we need to track them down and kill them before they plan another one.
