Pakistan says India’s Rafale deal will disturb balance of power

At least Pakistani experts take the Indian threat very seriously ... the Indian experts on the other hand completely dismiss the Pakistani and Chinese threat, leading to India's defeats at Balakot and Galwan.

There is no card to play ... US selling Pakistan the F-16 at a time when it is trying to get India on its side to counter China is simply out of the question.

Its clear india is not buying F21 and that might be enough to tilt trump, if he wins. The Afghanistan issue is still there. We can argue for a balance of power, good diplomacy can convince US legislators.
The US is getting india on its side but it also doesnt want Pakistan fully in chinese camp. This is how the US operates, they will try to keep Pakistan having some sort of "dependency" on US. Given our situation we already depend on them for our F16s, there is no harm in trying to improve our firepower without increasing too much dependency.

Unless you have some beneficial to offer.. I don't see reason that they give you sophisticated platform like F 16 blk 70... like joining in US camp against china..

ISLAMABAD: A day after India received the first batch of five Rafale fighter jets from France, Pakistan on Thursday expressed reservations on the deal, asserting it will disturb the balance of military power in the region.

Responding to the development in the neighbour country, the Foreign Office (FO) called on the international community to “dissuade India from its disproportionate arms buildup which could also lead to an arms race in South Asia”.

“The world is already a witness to the bellicose and irresponsible rhetoric by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in pursuit of a revisionist agenda in the neighbourhood,” said FO Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui during her weekly press briefing.

Farooqui observed that “according to some former senior Indian officials and several international publications […] Rafale jets are dual-capable systems that can also be modified as nuclear weapon delivery platforms”.

The FO statement noticed that it is well-established that India continues to expand and modernise its nuclear arsenal both in terms of type and number of delivery systems. “Besides, India has nuclearised the Indian Ocean and continues to increase the readiness of its arsenal through measures such as canisterisation of missile systems.”

“It is disturbing to note that India continues to amass military capabilities beyond its genuine security requirement. According to credible and reputable international research institutes, India is now the second-largest arms importer in the world,” added Farooqui.

The spokesperson stated that Pakistan has been consistently highlighting “the risks of massive Indian arms buildup as well as India’s offensive security doctrine and force postures, which are adversely affecting strategic stability in South Asia”.

According to the FO, this arms buildup is being aided and abetted through a policy of exemptions, waivers and supply of advanced equipment, technology and weapons for narrow commercial interests.

“Such arms transfers also violate the objectives of various export control regimes on preventing destabilising accumulations of arms in various regions including where there exist outstanding conflicts and disputes.”

“Transfer of advanced systems, where there is an open intention of conversion into nuclear delivery platforms, calls into question the commitment of international suppliers to non-proliferation commitments.”

The FO reiterated that Pakistan remains open to consideration of measures for crisis management, risk reduction, and strategic restraint.

“While remaining opposed to any arms race in South Asia, Pakistan cannot remain oblivious to these developments and remains confident of its ability to thwart any ill-considered act of aggression,” it said.

CONTINUED SUBJUGATION IN HELD KASHMIR:

The FO noted that Thursday marks the 360th day of the continued subjugation and brutalisation of the Kashmiri people in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary in Sialkot, targeting civilian populated areas with artillery fire, heavy-calibre mortars and automatic weapons continue unabated, recalled Farooqui.

She condemned restrictions imposed by Indian authorities on Eidul Azha prayers across held Kashmir.

“Imposition of restrictions on prayers on one of the most important days of the Islamic calendar represents complete disrespect by the Indian government for the sentiments of the Muslims of IOJK. It is also a flagrant violation of their fundamental freedom of religion,” she said.

The spokesperson maintained that Indian authorities are using Covid-19 related restrictions as a pretext to curb religious freedom of the Muslims of IOJK, even as the BJP government has been permitting religious activities in various other contexts and instances.

“Disallowing Kashmiri Muslims to offer Eidul Azha prayers is blatant discrimination,” she said.

What indians want to say us?. Have some political lessons. As far as balance of power, i think even 72 wouldn't make much difference India need at least 12 sdn make a difference. 12 means India will have 6 sqn ready for any time and rest in case of emergency. But mind you we (China and Pakistan) adopted India two front war concept (Thank you India) and India have to think wisely to put check on both front.

Pakistan should use all diplomatic means efficiently to convey to the world that India is blatantly following aggressive poster against Pakistan. If the world does not stop India from this massive build up against Pakistan, it should also get ready to confront dire consequences emanating from this militarily imbalance.and Pakistan has every right to take corrective measures it consider necessary to dissuade Indian from aggression and repression.
Actually these protestive warning among the countries aim at creating a space for counter action.which may be violating the normal rules of engagement.
America has completely gone In Indian camp so such Pakistani statement may fall on deaf ears. China may get some justification for further support in form of new birds for Pakistan to balance the military equilibrium in south Asia.
On lighter note Pakistan forces were well abreast of all this happening a way back so there is nothing panicking. A befitting solution would already be there or soon to be there for wistful Indians

I am not in favour of name-calling countries because of bail out packages. Several European nations subscribe to bail out. It is exactly like when you finance a car above your league and then loose your job because you worked for the car company. Its like taking loan to pay emi of previous loan ( i personally am thinking about that).

Do people get bailed out? No. Attach their assets or let them go rogue.

What balance of power ? Why do they not mention the Indian Navy and the SSBNs and carriers ?

Also, the Rafale deal has been public knowledge for years now. The Mirage 2ks were traditionally the nuke delivery platforms but even the MKI has integrated the Brahmos ALCM now.

Also, given the extent of India's civilian space program and the strides it has made, much longer range ICBMs capable of reaching anywhere on the planet are just a matter of production, not that the true range of Agni V will ever be known in the public domain anyway.

Perhaps second hand F-16s.
Those would also require a nod from the US. Seems unlikely given all the tension between them and China, and with Pakistan being so strongly allied to the Chinese.

With JF-17 Block 3, Rafale is toast is what I have gathered from experts here on PDF. So I really don't see why there is any concern.

jf 17 block 1&2 can run through Tejas, MIG 29s. The F-16s will run through Mirages and MKIs and the Block 3 will run through anything we will have.

Shouldn't we be the one complaining?

Yes rich coming from Pakistan Citizen whose pm knocked several countries and imf door for bailout package...

People like yourself use to mock Pakistan for insecurity up until 5 years ago. Now that Pakistan has defeated terrorism and eliminated most Indian sponsored terror proxies you taunt with economy, knowing that India use to be extremely poor up until couple of decades ago.

Pakistan's economy will recover. But people like you ( typical Indian breed) will come up with some thing else. I don't know and I don't care how much money reserves India has, but one thing is for sure quality of life of an ordinary Pakistani is much better than an ordinary Indian. We all know that.

In what way you are calling Pakistan have quality of life??.. am not sure, if you do.. why Pakistan reached imf doorstep for bailout package.. ofcourse India have long way to go.. considering the size of population, takes time ... but sure we headed in economic ways.. challenges exists in our path... but nonsense coming from you, about our defence purchses... whatever we keep balance between defence needs and on education, infra, health... unlike Pakistan... don't talk nonsense, when you are struck in deep mud..

Future is bright for Pakistan and dim for India. No matter of fancy toys can defeat the large scale incompetence of the Indian military.

Alhamdulilah, Pakistan will keep improving JF17 and develop its internal drone and arms industry. With Afghanistan and Iran secured, Pakistan can focus solely on India now.

5 or 36 new Rafaels is not going to change the balance of power of anything other than people's egos.
