Government can't do anything here since they are not in favour of long term contact and spot delivery will always have issue like this...
Anyhow lng issue is being politicized also...

Which country do you live in? Atleast in karachi in winter we had and have gas shortage from years people cook food 3am in some area or so so that they can eat lunch because gas is not available.

That's due to Sindh government and her aim to provide gas even to unregulated areas for cash.

Long term LNG contracts are done for baseline demand, it is a fixed contract to supply a specific amount of cargoes each month through out the year. What would you do with the additional gas in summer months if you sign on LNG long-term contracts based on winter demands? RELEASE IN THIN AIR? There is no room for any further long term contracts in Pakistan. The gap is filled through spot market. PLMN also used to do the same in winter months.

Yes a deposit was forfeited by Pakistan amounting to 300,000 dollars submitted by SOCAR.

The government has booked enough forgoes and done it's homework. This is not a fault at their end. Even Bangladesh and India are rationing gas.
