Pakistan Rebuffs Indian Defence Minister Allegations

'Pakistan Times' Diplomatic Desk
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly rejected the allegations of presence of any training camps in Pakistan.

Reacting to the allegations levelled by Indian Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee, the Foreign Office spokesperson Tasneem Aslam termed these allegations as "totally baseless".

She said Pakistan is in fact fighting terrorism as part of international coalition and this role is recognised by the comity of nations.

Recap

As was reported 'Pakistan Times' [Daily Web Newspaper] in its edition of Wednesday, March-10, India's defence minister Tuesday rejected a call by Pakistan for troop cuts in held Kashmir to push forward a slow-moving peace process, saying attacks by "militants" must stop first.

"We will not reduce troop strength Jammu and Kashmir," Pranab Mukherjee said here. "A reduction of troops depends on the security scenario," he added.

President General Pervez Musharraf had urged India to reduce troop numbers in the Kashmir towns of Srinagar, Baramulla and Sopore to speed up peace talks between the two nations that began in January 2004.

Admin Edit: Pray some where else, this is a discussion forum so just discuss, and please avoid one liners.

Someone needs to smack some sense into the idiot. This is just as bad as that BJP guy advani screaming "teeroreezum" teerorezum" everywhere. These people have no dignity. Did someone ask him if he has been in those "training camps" or is he talking about the training camps in india run by RAW...?

India will decide what it wants to do with its state-Kashmir. Pakistan has no right to dictate about it.

Do you ever hear India asking Pakistan for a troop reduction in Balochistan?

Jay,
Kashmir is a disbupted territory regocnosed by the UN. Whatever happens there affects India and Pakistan and ofcourse the Kashmiris.

First of all Balochistan is an integral part of Pakistan officially acceeded after the partition and its not a disputed territory.
Secondly, India has tried to meddle in Balochistan.

UN does not support seperatist movements Bull, not going to happen.

Same abt kahsmir and same with pakistan meddling in kashmir.
Again, there's no such thing as meddling as the region is disputed.

Its not supporting but recognising baluchistan as a disputed region

Balochistan is not an annexed territory, it succeeded voluntarily when Khan of Kalat singned the instrument.
Problems in Balochistan are not Governance related, its the feudal system and landlodism which has caused much damage to the people.
GoP is spending billions today to finance mega projects and to lift Balochis from feudal system and poverty.
UN has no case against GoP to regocnise Balochistan as a disputed territory as the problems are internal.

Balochistan is a part of Pakistan, Its people are Pakistanis. Unlike the citizens of the indian occupied Kashmir...the Balochi people are patriots, its only some of the sardars who get their weapons and funds from RAW that are creating some trouble. Hopefully soon they will be fixed and brought to their senses.

Jay, Stop posting flaming onesided stories. It is not bollywood. If you look at the world then every part wants to independent. You see the same in Ireland or Spain. India has many problems of its own. If you keep destroying objectivity then accept this as a first warning. I don't make jokes neither do I like onesided posts.

Time has run out for the UN and Pakistan. J&K is firmly under Indian control and anyone who thinks otherwise can day dream.
India can have the same dream about AK. ;)

Lets get the facts straight here. Balohistan announced independence and was forced by Pakistan to accede.
Jay, I think that you're unaware of the fact that the Partition act was about two nation theory.
Either join India or Pakistan, independancy from both was not an option.
Thats probably the reason Hari Singh delayed the referendum untill he had to make a choice. He wanted independant Kashmir, all for himself.
Btw, Balochistan wasn't forced a la Hyderabad. ;)

If India supports BLA fulltime, it wont remain a part of Pakistan. India has denied any involvement with BLA or Balochi nationalists.
BLA has always had support from India and the USSR as part of their warm water policy.
USSR lost heavily in Afghanistan, India has no clue what will happen to her if she started to support BLA fulltime.
Believe me, it will backfire.
If Pakistan disintegrates, India will follow...

Did you read where Bugti is gonna setup his government in exile? ;)
Who cares?
Buy him a villa in Mumbai.

Quite a story, but read up Colonel's post about Soviets exploits in Afghanistan. You will start changing your beliefs about Red army and Mujahedeens.

The difference between military historians and academic historians is that we pay much more careful attention to the details rather than a blanket statement.

There is absolutely no question that the Soviet Red Army dominated the battlefield. There was not one case where the Soviets lost a city, let alone a province to the Mujahadeen. The Soviets did lose a few garrisons but that is to be expected and vengence was swift and merciless.

If you read the accounts of the Soviet regiments, especially the Central Asian regiments, the Mujahadeen did not measure up in either effectiveness nor furiocity. And the Soviets had the Afghan National Army who were equal in the cruelty department; but lacking in discipline.

The Soviets left because they could no longer afford the war. Afghanistan was the straw that broke the camel's back. Even still, Kabul lasted another 10 years.
