A 23 year old woman who was allegedly gang raped by five Pakistanis, is recovering.
Arthur Larok the country director at Action Aid said after the victim has gone through the necessary treatment at Mbarara hospital, Action Aid will take over her rehabitation and care.
Police in Kampala arrested two Pakistan nationals on allegations of rape
Mohammed Wagas and Ahamad Shahbaz, were remanded to Luzira prison while three of their accomplices are said to be on the run. The incidence reportedly happened in Kiwatule a Kampala surburb.
The woman who could hardly walk on her own, alleged that five men, all workers of Yuasa Motors Limited, gang raped her several times after tying her to a chair.
She stated that the man locked her inside their rented house for close to a month raping her in turns.
She only managed to escape when they forgot keys at a sink and she reported the matter at a police post.
The case attracted public uproar as the police failed to arrest the culprits since July until the matter was taken to the deputy CIID director Moses Musana, who ordered for their immediate arrest.
The men were then arrested and the victim taken to the police surgeon in Nsambya for medical examination.
The Pakistan then community apologized to Ugandans and the victim.
