Pakistan ranked fourth most unsafe country in the world

Please don't try to open their eyes. Let them live in their wonderland like Alice.

All I can do is try.

The basic issue arises when most Pakistani believe fervently in their country, but have no way of judging their relative standing in the world. Whenever any ranking is listed, the disbelief is understandable, but the response is not.

A belligerent or ridiculing response does nothing to propagate Pakistan's point of view, yet that is rewarded by their cohorts as having done their patriotic duty, not realizing that it only sinks Pakistan's image even further. It is better to understand the methodology for such rankings, apply it within its context only, and to come up with facts to counter them, wherever available and possible.

May be that is too much to hope for?

It is disbelief and not disbelieve.

Pakistan doesn't claim to be a land where rivers of honey are flowing unlike Afghanistan and Iraq. Two places which have been ravaged by countries we can identify on one hand.

Exaggeration is also an art. Claiming that Nigeria, Pakistan and others who are mentioned on the list are worse than Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan etc. is simply false and inaccurate. Also, excluding the likes of Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq from the list is obvious as daylight. It has nothing to do with disbelief or muscle flexing. Any sane person can make this judgement.

I don't see this problem with Indians a lot. We too rank low on most lists in the world. But we don't react like this. We accept there is a problem and try to rectify it. Precisely the reason why tourism in India has been growing at double digits rates in the last few years for example.

No you don't react reasonably. You react selectively. http://nymag.com/thecut/2015/03/powerful-rape-documentary-banned-in-india.html

Tourism in India has been on the decline and we all know the reasons for that.

The topic and the methodology of the report is related to tourism only. Taking it out of context is misleading. Pakistan is safe enough for its citizens, comparable in this regard to most countries of the world, and, importantly, has improved security steadily over the past year or two. Tourism is not a big part of Pakistan's economy anyway, and hence not as important as other factors.

Exactly and that is directly related to the kind of peaceful/stable or unstable environment that the said country is facing for years.Considering the number of years or decades we had to spend in tackling some serious kind of Terrorism which obviously not only effected the Tourism Industry but everything else as well,we were bound to come in this list on the same number or perhaps a little low..

Fortunately other countries in the list didnt have to bear all that like us....else i see Pakistanies and other Asians comparatively more hospitable towards Foreigners than Arabs/British...pretty darn racist they are!

That may or not be true, but, to be honest, I really do not care much about India relative to Pakistan. Sorry for being blunt. Why take this thread off topic with such comparisons?

Just trying to understand the cultural difference on why the two societies receive such news so differently. That's all. Anyway, I agree this is a deviation.

The important thing is to accept the problem, and work to rectify it. And then advertise to the world the real improvements. Not claimed, but REAL.

Your understanding is obviously flawed and selective.

You have your lunatics, we have ours. That is all I will say. :D

You are posting random stuff here but cant reply to why India received 8 million tourists in 2015 but you received 6000.

Throwing article about a documentary being banned in India doesn't answer this question which shows the reality. Btw, this documentary was banned because of legal issues as it was shot in jails with prisoners without requisite permissions.

This is the truth about tourism in India and that includes Indian sources. Tourism has been on the decline throughout the years and 2015 has been the worst year for India after the high profile rape cases.
