LAHORE:
Pakistan have qualified for the World Cup after a superb run in the FIP Polo World Cup Playoff Zone D in Malaysia and are now set to play India in the final of the tournament.

The two teams set up their clash after beating their respective semi-final opponents at the Royal Pahang Polo Grounds.

The national team topped the table after wins over Nigeria and South Africa ahead of India who beat Australia and Malaysia. A superior goal difference handed Pakistan the top spot as they have so far scored 28 goals in the tournament and conceded 17, while second-placed India have scored 17.5 goals and given away 10.

Raja Samiullah, who has so far enjoyed a superb tournament, has been nominated for the player-of-the-championship award.

“The team’s in high spirits and is training in a dedicated manner,” team manger Abdul Qadir Khan Mamdot said in a statement. “So far the national team has remained unbeaten which proves that they have worked hard.”

I tried to look for the members of the polo team but couldn't find their names or pictures....

Its kinda funny how so less people throng to good threads about Pakistan. It's like we are inherently pessimistic and anything good and worth cherishing about the country gives us a nervous break down.

Exactly.

People always tend to play down the positive aspects of Pakistan and over exaggerate the negative aspects!

Pakistan believe it or not has many positive things going on right now

Surprisingly it does but why would the media highlight it because bad news is good news and good news is no news at all. It's in media's interest to keep the people thinking that their is nothing going their way because when people are happy they don't sit in front of the Idiot box all day, they go out and enjoy life. Now that' ll be disastrous for the TRP's of all the media outlets and is a serious no can't-do for them.

Thank you!

But its from 2003, are the same guys still playing?

Well, Raja Samiullah is namely mentioned, and as far as I know, Express Tribune published an article on Hissam Ali Haider some weeks back (his success in Argentina if I correctly remember.)

Thats very true, seriously you watch Pakistani news channels for a couple of hours and you start feeling so depressed, only negative stuff on.
