Thats bcs almost every house in Pakistan have a weapon, that too deadly assault rifles like AK 47. Watch Pakistani wedding ceremonies to understand the fire power that Pakistani civilians have. So understandably Pakistani police have to armed at par with the civilians if not better.

Well there are almost 13 MILLION Pakistani civilians in KPK/FATA alone , who think that "Weapons are men's jewellery"...These people carry AK-47s , RPGs , Machine Guns , AND anti-aircraft guns too..They know how to operate these weapons effectively.... Their firepower alone will beat the living sh!t out of many countries' armies in the world... Remember what happened when once Afghanistan tried to ..kinda.."invade" Pakistan? These proud Pashtun Pakistanis THRASHED the Afghan Forces and Afghans ran back...and never dared to return

And this is just our Pashtun people...Punjabis , Sindhis , etc are very well-equipped too... Pakistan's civilian firepower is probably the largest and most lethal in the world ...

These people are one hell of an asset to Pakistan---Just imagine an "enemy" that will dare to launch an all-out "ground invasion" of Pakistan in order to occupy us.--- Imagine what will happen to them?

But yeah , Pakistani state should invest heavily in police...so no one can mis-use these weapons....

So there is nothing like "couple of Aks" blah blah... This is just ONE province and not even whole Pakistan...

Secondly , Somalians carry weapons due to CIVIL WAR being fought there...These people carry weapon as a 'tradition' and they have been carrying weapons since centuries! They know how to operate them effectively. Secondly , Afghanistan is not powerful because of several reasons... It has nothing to do with carrying weapons to begin with...

Any ground invasion of Pakistan will be THE MOST hellish task for any Army in the world... Any Army who would try to "occupy" Pakistan will be surrounded amongst millions of people armed with Ak-47s , Machine Guns , 7.6 mm guns , RPGs , rocket launchers , and Anti-Aircraft guns too....

Well anyways , the ONLY country that can think of 'occupying' Pakistan is the United States...and they won't do it ...

Other nations around us aren't even capable of defeating Pakistan's first Army...forget about facing civilians and going deep inside Pakistan's territory
