Pakistan producing special artillery shells with increased range

POF wah manufactures "Base bleed" artillery shells for Pakistan army.The design modification increases Cannon range by 30%.
"Base bleed" is a special artillery shell with a small rocket motor which gives extra push to the shell,increasing range.It is a complicated technology perfected by Pakistan ordinance factory wah.

Not a big development.

The modication and increased range makes it inaccurate, hence the Pakistani Army lost more of its accuracy edge but gained a better range.

In my opinion other way around is much superior.

Well its an old system but yes it does reduce drag.
It also means less space for the explosive warhead and it also decreases the CEP to a certain degree maybe because of the turbulent airflow around the shell.

I'd much rather prefer GPS guided precision munition like the excalibur or the XM395.
