What is the ratio of urban to rural population in Pakistan? Because your cities like lahore ans karachi have large population so i think other big cities will be same..so it means you have more urban people than rural?

According to "estimates" urban population is 80m and rural 120m. But I believe ratio now is 50/50 and census results will prove it.

Pakistan needs more people. People are your assets as long as they are educated. With Pakistan's growing economy, the more people can benefit from it and benefit the country as well. I am not saying that you be like the Chinese or the Indians. But I think 300 million in the next 15-20 years would give you one of the largest population sizes, as well as the economy will respectively grow as you'll need to build buildings, homes, clothing, schools for these additional people. And if educated, this massive pool of people can then be provided to other countries as labor. Just like India did.

Both India and China have grown primarily due to their population size. If you are so heavily population, your internal economy will remain strong as you'd have to provide for your population. So, how much business you do outside, means less. So a heavy population means your internal businesses keep running to provide for your own population, and the consumers keep buying so your economy always remains stable and grows as new generations come. I'd say 2-3 children are a must per family.

As I said above, there are countries of the world which will be forced to WANT to get people inside them if those countries are going to survive as nations. Perhaps a very bitter pill to swallow. Right now, with all kinds of terrorist activities and xenophobia around, it might sound an inconceivable idea today but people change with changing circumstances.

Any big economy will either show you an internal population that they cater to today, such as the US, China, India, etc. Or their previous influence / control on various territories like the UK. These populations supported these countries to develop an internal economic system that then expanded out to external business. But they were strong internally first. Which is why I said Pakistan should have around 300 million people. Not too big, not too small but just enough to sustain a top 15 economies internally based on her own population's needs, like any big economy today.

On Africa, believe it or not, just like India, China, and now Pakistan, the next highest growth market after Pakistan, Brazil and Mexico go up, will be Africa. About 15 years from now India and China will be saturated like everything else and there will be much slower growth (it has already started, Moody's downgraded China for the first time since 1989). So where does the growth go next? Who needs the internet, better roads, hospitals, computer systems, mobile and all other electronics and better schooling? Africa does. So by 2030, the world's economic expansion will be focused on reaping profits out of Africa. Just the way it is.

I agree with DJV. There is no need to curtail pop growth artificially for Pak, provided they can educate and train the folks. With CPEC, a large trained labour force can be a plus.
