What's new

Pakistan plans to use GPS-guided mortar to target Indian Army bunkers.

i think it would be better if you knew what you were talking about before just plain out speaking what we call ignorance on a subject :)

Stop blabbering, either talk in context with details for meaningful discussion else dont quote me.

Yeah that's the one. Like I said this capability is only getting bigger.
This is quite a revelation because it is said that GPS can be tangled by the host to throw off any precision capability. By using BeiDou I guess you don't have any of these shenanigans to deal with.

Even though Pakistan will buy this for use against India but will eventually use it against jihadis operating in Pakistan itself.

Most of the Pakistani military equipment and ammunition is depleted in internal anti terror operations.

The last major ground operation ended in July 2017. Now it's just IBOs and repelling border raids.

China produces laser and GPS/compass guided 120mm mortars.

BTW Russia for decades has fielded a laser guided mortar.

to the malnourished indian who is orgasming over turning off GPS , pl note that there are at atleast 3 other satellite tracking systems in the world , one of which pakistan has full access to

Well, that's exactly what I said that GPS and Beidou signal are compatible and GPS device can read Beidou signals as well and if somehow USA disables GPS (it can but not just for Pakistan...it will be disabled in the whole region which is near to impossible other than in case of the nuclear war) and even if US does that Beidou will be working and further Pakistan has access to mil frequencies.
even my phone can read GPS, glonass and beido at the same time

Please try to use commercial gps chipset that uses public gps / glonass/ beidou on something that travels 700-1000m/s and try to figure out where it lands. There is a reason why military grade gps kit for mortars costs over 10-12000$ per kit.

Sources reveal that Pakistan is extremely interested in purchasing these and has instructed its embassies around the world to hunt for a viable deal.

Continuing with its ploy of targeting Indian security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan plans to make use of GPS-guided mortar for precision attacks in the time to come.

It has been learnt that Pakistan is in the weapons market to purchase the special and technologically advanced mortar which only a few countries currently have in their arsenal. Apart from some European countries, China also has these special mortars although Beijing has kept its features and abilities classified.

Sources reveal that Pakistan is extremely interested in purchasing these and has instructed its embassies around the world to hunt for a viable deal.

The GPS-enabled mortar with other countries - apart from China which has kept its special mortars secret - can target enemy establishments with extreme accuracy. According to an official in the Indian Defence Ministry, the directions and target of these mortars can be altered even after they are fired, making them deadly for even mobile enemy units. Security analysts say that some of these mortars can also differentiate between enemy and friendly forces.

In the past, the United States has made use of GPS-enabled mortar to target Taliban in Afghanistan, and with a high degree of success. As such, technological development of these mortars is a constant process - making the new variants even more deadly.

That will be a good idea I would say provided Pakistan has evaluated pros and cons.

Your desperation is quite clear when u have taken the time to spell Pakistan wrong in all of your posts. Why are you all so obsessed with us? This could get dangerous for you, it's not good for health.

using the letter th instead of t is common for South indians, because that's how they pronounce them.
they even spell their names that way.

No point taking offense over that and banning him for it.
