Good but when PAF claims JF 17 is at par with US F 16 and half of a price than why they hell they still buying F 16 when u can have two JF 17 in same amount without loosing perfomance

Get out of F 16 jail u cant live up like this USAF retired legendary WW 2 fighter because requirements has been changed enemy getting powerfull

the F-16 surpasses the JF-17 in many areas. they F-16MLU/BLK-52 can data link, they have bigger range/payload, the JF-17 won't take form until its in its 3rd block when it has a better radar and IFRP.

By grace of the Almighty time will come for total replacement. The main purpose of JF17 is Air defense and CAS so far fully capable with the combo of Karakoram AWE&C air craft. One should not be pessimistic the thunder has bright future. The thunder in Block -III configuration will suffice most of our requirements and may become workhorse once production rate is increased, Now on serious side China has achieved limited success in making Jet engines though at limited scale. Now we should emphasize on developing indigenous jet engine with Chinese collaboration for future projects.

F7 had 800 hours life before overhauls total life 2400 so could be overhauled twice paf added another mini overhaul to extend life by 200 hours past oem recommended life for both F6 and F7s for mirage dassult supported paf during the process but Chinese were not interested so PAC did devised their own mini overhaul to extend. Life of f6 to keep them flying till 2002 and f7s which should be gone this year with no 18 converting to Jf with Jf dual seat ers 2 dual seater plus development will be complete this year and remaining block 2 next year 14 dual seater while 2109 onwards block 3 will start Production or at least that's the plan

The Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) has carried out overhaul and fuselage evaluation of the FC-1 fighter aircraft also called the JF-17.

“On December 28, 2015, Pakistan held a ceremony of 2015 production delivery of the 16th FC-1 in the 2nd batch and the accomplishment of the first FC-1 fuselage evaluation that is entitled self-production towards maintenance,” the Aviation Industries Corporation of China (AVIC) said in a statement.

From the day when the first coproduced FC-1 rolled out on November 23, 2009 until now, the China-Pakistan’s team has made remarkable achievements, said the statement adding that in 2015, facing the challenge of the 16th aircraft production delivery, both sides finished the task making Pakistan’s aviation manufacturing capability grow up steadily.

“Pakistan carried out the FC-1 overhaul and finished the first FC-1 fuselage evaluation, which lays foundation on the Pakistan’s overhaul,” the statement said suggesting that the future overhaul of the FC-1/JF-17 could be done in Pakistan.

The FC-1/JF-17 is in service in China, Pakistan and has recently been sold to Nigeria and possibly Myanmar. The single engine aircraft is said to have the performance of the US-made F-16 fighter at less than half the cost.
