Pakistan needs to replace China with Russia

No. Pakistan's alliance with China is irreplaceable. It's a force multiplier for both of us just like US relationship with Israel.

China has no choice but to support Pakistan. China will never support India. So there is no risk to the China-Pakistan relationship by the act of Pakistan buying weapons from Russia.

Is it time to replace China with Russia?

No doubt China has given us many technologies and weapon systems but they don't to it for the love of Pakistan rather to confront India.

Even if Pakistan does not buy any weapons from China, they will still consider India as their rival & enemy. So they is no risk of China selling any weapons to India.

On the other hand, Russia had been selling weapons to India for many decades now but this relationship is very weak today thanks to Modi who is anti-Russia. Today, Modi's India is primarily buying weapons from the US.

Hence, Pakistan buying weapons from Russia instead of China would break the Russia-India relationship permanently and we could get advanced weapons systems from Russia.
Why we need to replace anyone with someone? We can have good relationships with both. But, it will be childish to think that any country loves you. Only Pakistan can love Pakistan. China is a big powerful country, and its our big luck that they are our neighbors also. Russia is as irreliable as a snake. If you ever want to know the mentality of russians, just make some Russian your friend. You will know.
We better not fancy a relationship with them. Pay them, they will provide. That's it.
However, what are we doing with our own education system and industry is totally unfair, that has a potential more than any country of this world.

How so? Have you not noticed how Russia is fighting in/for Syria?
That is for personal interests of Putin. You have no idea how Bashar has sold his whole country to Russians just to keep his government.

Look at Georgia and Ukraine.

You used have used the word "supplement" then, not "replace", in your original post.

May be but we need to show enough money on the table to ensure Russia is not compelled financially to engage with India in parallel. With China there is no risk as they have no choice but to support us.

For example, PMIK could offer Putin a mutually exclusive relationship offer. Break your relationship with India and Pakistan will buy all her weapons from Russia.

Russia puts boots on the ground to protect their allies. They did it time and again.

They sent their navy to defend India in 1971 while US did not come to our rescue.

Will China fight in a Pakistan-India war if we need them? I doubt. They may help us with money, weapons or veto at UN but they will stay away from fighting on the ground. If you build an allince with Russia, you can bet they will be there on the ground when you need them.

Even this Russian's waited until the end to help a friend -- they aren't reliable in any sense of the word and their weapons quality isn't up to par.

During the 50's, 60's & 70's they sold tanks with inferior material as they didn't have the adequate supplies. It's to much to list and on top of that they can't stand on their feet at the moment.

When Pakistan will have a $1 trillion economy Russia may think about selling weapons to Pakistan. Russia have got much bigger fish to fry then Pakistan so don't live in the world of make believe. We are doing well with China and we need visionary leaders who can put us on the path of made in Pakistan. If we have $'s we still can get articles of interests from Europe somehow as US have almost closed their doors on us due to geopolitics and incompetent foreign office.

Do you think Pakistan is less valuable than Syria?

Russian military specialists arrive in Venezuela to service equipment: Interfax

MOSCOW/CARACAS (Reuters) - A group of Russian military specialists has arrived in the Venezuelan capital of Caracas, the Interfax news agency reported on Wednesday, as Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro meets with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, to improve cooperation.

Moscow has been one of Maduro’s biggest backers amid what it has described as U.S. efforts to undermine him, and has provided loans and other help for the military and oil industry in Venezuela, where Russia has major energy investments.

The Russian government has dispatched troops to Venezuela several times already this year to service military equipment, despite the U.S. government repeatedly warning Putin against sending Maduro military assistance.

The Interfax report did not say how many specialists had been sent, but it cited an unnamed source saying they had been dispatched to carry out maintenance on Russian military hardware sold to the Latin American country.

Two Russian planes had landed recently in Venezuela, Interfax reported, citing social media reports.

A Reuters photographer on Wednesday saw one Russian air force jet at Caracas’ main Maiquetia airport. The plane had left Moscow on Sept 20, according to flight tracking website Flight Radar.

Maduro on Monday left for a state visit to Russia and on Wednesday met with Putin, who said he backed negotiations between Venezuela’s government and the opposition.

Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido said earlier this month that negotiations in Barbados with the government, mediated by Norway, had been exhausted after the Maduro administration withdrew delegates following a tightening of U.S. sanctions. A small group of opposition lawmakers has entered separate talks with Maduro, which Guaido has rejected.

Meeting Maduro in Moscow, Putin said Moscow considered any refusal to hold dialogue to be “irrational and harmful for the country and a threat to the welfare of the population.”

Pakistan has a lot to offer and Russia would surely partner with us if we are serious.

For example, we can have IP pipeline built by Russia.

Turkey & Pakistan can partner with Russia on Air Defence Systems, Choppers, Stealth Fighters etc.
