in a news report it has been said that Pakistan is far behind other countries as far as satellite launching capability into orbit is concerned. This lagging of Pakistan in years is as below:

  1. Russia: 56 years
  2. USA: 55 years
  3. France: 48 years
  4. Japan and China: 43 years
  5. UK: 24 years
  6. India: 33 years
  7. Israel: 25 years
  8. Ukraine: 21 years
  9. Iran: 4 years

the Jang editorial on this goes like, Pakistan is the only country in Muslim world and one of the few in the world which has progressed enormously in the field of Missile technology but surprisingly no such landmark has been achieved in the field of space science that's why Pakistan has fallen on the third number of poorest countries in the world. :undecided:. our top leadership must ponder upon this issue as there has not been any serious progress in the field of harvesting knowledge reading agriculture, science and space.

We are quite anxious to play sports with India but have never given a thought to compete with India in the field of Engineering, medicine and Space science. Pakistan's youth is unaware that when we were buying scrap weapons of WWII from USA, India had established Military Technology College that's it is high time that Pakistan should turn the way of competition towards science and technology. Also we need to think that in modern era, wars are fought with Science and Technology and that's why prospering in the field of Science and Technology is inevitable.

.
No politician will do anything good for Pakistan, they here only to eat & do mega corruption.

.
The last govt of PPP showed some interest in the space program but this PMLN govt has not done anything yet.. not a single project has been announced in this regard.

.
You know, entering space programs has huge benefits for the country. A lot of the useful inventions we have today (eg. bionics) originally came from space programs. It'll drive the economy too.

I don't see it happening right now.

Since no Pakistani government either civilian or military was ready to allot money in other sectors except for defence sector.

Dont we need serious investment in education first!!!
And What about Research and technology sector? should we leave it until we achieve 100% literacy rate , and then nation cry when researchers start to leave their country as their is no one to fund any sort of research project. Basic Education and Research Education are 2 different matters, please don't mix them with each other.

Pakistan needs serious investment in EDUCATION Program:rolleyes:

So long as everything Pak wants to do is to ' compete' with India it will reach nowhere.

Nations must do things as per a well thought out & consistent national policy and not to compete with neighbors.

In 2004, musharaff said pakistan was years ahead of India in space technologies.

He again admitted recently during elections when he was coming to Pakistan that Pakistan has slowed in space race and has lost it with India.

Dont troll with 10 year old statements.

well,Suparco was established in 1961..don't know why they never took any ambitious initiative even within 53 years..only handful of projects, still tangling between bureaucratic decisions and functioning like sub department of other departments under Armed forces, its quite hopeless for Suparco.I think they should redesign it like ISRO,a fully functional department which will have full control over space exploration and research.it got notably support from various countries, still didn't utilized it much.

The only thing the US did in the Cold War was Compete with the Godless Soviets and their satellites.

Everyone need someone o compete against.

Hell, I competed against Arnold Shalwars-engger when I was 15-17 years old in weight training. He beat me though.

In 8th course, we are still reading that there are 9 planets in solar system. :hitwall:

There will always be 9 planets. The International Astronomical Union can suck on it.
