Pakistan Navy interested in J-11Bs

This will not match a Nuclear attack submarine with a dome like passive sonar for Pakistan's navy patrols and sea recon.

Sir Air Wing is the now the most important for Navy but JF-17 could also do this Job yes we will need far more planes than we will g et but yes we need Submarines and more Frigates to but we need Fighter Planes also and really soon

J-11's will do fine for the PAF, a small squadron at first should be fine. PAF should now really think about buying twin engine & heavy weight fighter jets, this single engine & light weight fighters doctrine by PAF should end. PAF is having F-16’s, JF-17’s, old F-7’s & soon INSHAALLAH J-10’s so there is no harm in going for twin engines & heavy weight fighters they serve very well to the PAF. I hope PAF is thinking about this already.

it will be a paradigm shift in policies if the Pakistani forces go for a twin-engine aircraft,as they have historically preferred single-engine solutions so far

Very Good, But does PN have Budget and expertise to handle this Jet, remember operational cost + Maintenance cost + Manpower cost could be 30% price of a weapon system over a 3 year period. Adding the serviceability and inflation on spares.

nothing is official yet, not even the Pakistan Navy's reported INTEREST in buying any AC for independent air wing is confirmed so it is not good to make sure comments regarding this subject.

surely, PN will get air support, either PN decide for a separate air wing or it comes in form of PAF dedicated naval role squadrons but what aircraft they will use is again not claimed in any thing/report.

but yes, as far as common sense goes and for those who are closely following the development of JFT, it seems that it will be some squadrons of JFT dedicated for Naval Role equipped with C-802/803 missile air launched variants.

Surely it would make far more sense for an armed forces as fiscally challenged as Pakistan's to go for multirole a/c which can be employed in numours capcities and not have dedicated maritime SQDs/SQDs operated by PN. Fighter assets for navies should only be procured if they are going on carriers. This is far more cost-effective. Look at India-even though they have fighters in their navy and their AF also has SQDs of MKIs that are capable of handling maritime interdiction role but as a secondary role.

Why not try JH7A. It's fighter/attacker and can carry medium range air to air missile for self defense.

And much cheaper than J11 series.

ALTHOUGH ITS NOT A BAD AC FOR NAVAL ROLE. BUT CHINA NOT MANUFACTURING JH-7 ANY MORE..... U CAN ONLY HAVE THEM USED.
