Alapuzzha (March 30)- A senior officer of the Indian Navy downplayed reports of threat posed by Pakistan's submarine arm.
Speaking on the sidelines of a function hosted by the office of District Collector , Rear Admiral SJ Singh who is Flag Officer Sea Training while responding to a journalist's question, said that only 3 submarines of Pakistan's underwater arm are operational at a given time.
He added that the Indian Navy has adequate resources to deal with them and is continuously enhancing both its submarine and anti-submarine warfare capabilities.
The naval officer along with district officials also inaugurated a new helpline for fishermen in the district. The helpline will be jointly operated by Navy and Coast guards.
