Pakistan Navy, Dow students team up for beach cleanup, plantation drive at Manora

This is why we need a change in the school Curriculum. Cleanness and good manners need to be alongside Math and Science. No sense in working so hard to build a hospital with a trash pit next door giving people more diseases then the hospital can take care of. Children should be made to earn these skills, upon which they would be allowed to graduate to the next level, be they rich or poor kids.

We really should bring over the Japanese to consult in how this can be done. If we are to live healthier lives with our ever growing population, we need to make our public places (for example; public toilets at bus terminals) clean. Down the line we will be able to attract tourists and profit collectively. we should also study Rwanda, and how it cleans its capital. they were killing themselves a generation ago and now they have recovered and have focused on development.

I am personally not in favour of the fines but our people are not educated & sensitive enough.. We saw once IK the governor house was opened for the first time, people turned it into a mess.
Yes that was very unfortunate ....This is why I suggest schools need to actively take responsibilities of some places within the city to expose the children to the nature of the problem and how to address it by cleaning and changing attitudes...

You can't teach old dogs new tricks but you can put it in children and let them carry it on forward as youth are the change making agents

I think everyday one school should be put in charge to clean some places in every city...

This will keep the city clean plus teach from a young age what to do with trash and where dustbins are. ....hopefully the next generation learns to live in clean Pakistan which they don't dirty themselves

We have enough youth, schools and cities that don't have enough schools will be identified
If students will do that work, then who will do students works? And then, why some guys are getting salaries at all, whose actual work to keep the cities clean?

Students are not going to clean toilets just public places like a clean drive and it is one school each day in rotating fashion as I mentioned my experience on page 1....

We had it in my school and I never failed ....so it is possible...

Japan does it and their students are considered bright....

Children can be molded in whatever manner you mold them....cleanliness needs a place in our curriculum and daily lives

Well my idea is impose heavy penalties on the old dogs (i.e Age > 18) and it should be proportional to the age and penalties should include public service like cleaning the roads, public toilets, waste collection etc and who fails to do so, should pay fines.

As for those who are paid we can cut down thone dept thst are ideal hence saving more money....While teaching our next generation the ways to cleanliness. ..no use being educated when you throw trash out a moving car....in my opinion that is failure for life. ...same idiots will keep trash in their pockets when they go overseas...bus Pakistan a ker nakhray asman par ho jata hain

Or it can be five schools in various areas of a city or no. Of schools depending on size of city or thesis. ...

Yea we need multiple schemes ...fines plus educating next generation because fines alone won't help....

That is under waste and sewage management can't get students to do that coz that requires alot of tech and heavy duty plants ....

That needs to be addressed by authorities ...at least as a citizen do how much you can...don't litter

Tree plantation drive is almost included in the cleaning drive

The level of cleanness is not enough that those that actually clean the cities can do on their own. they have more than enough work. Also, Cleanness needs to be a part of the education of the people. In the future, if we save on importing raw materials we throw in the waste, we can save money to pay the excess laborers to lay bricks on the sides of roads to make sidewalks. Laborers could specialize and be arborists, they could take the trash from the recycling collection points to recycling plants, they could collect compost-able materials and take them to mini bio-gas factories to make methane.

We need to expand the powers of NAB. They need an army of lawyers that will fight the cases. Also the courts need to be able to bring speedy justice, otherwise cases will drag on for years.

Sincere lawyers is what we need...I wanted to be a lawyer as a child but Pakistan justice system was repelling
