an interesting life you have lead - to say the least

was papa tiger's mustache really that big ?
More than his moustache, it was the look in his eyes. Scary. Watch your mail.

I did not, so is one my closest friends, as is his wife, both their families had migrated during the 71 conflict.
He still has feelings for Bangladesh, although his wife does not, to put it mildly. Her father served in the Indian army, although retired now. He was here around 3/4 years ago and we went for a session of practice golf in the nets and few drinks. When leaving he offered to smuggle me into India via Bangladesh in-case my visa was refused by the Indian government lol, I said thank you, but no thank you
It would have been nice.

An East Bengali, in the Indian Army? Interesting. We would know one another. My mama was DNI during those times, and retired as FOC-in-C Eastern Command.

Uh-oh, you don't allow direct mail. Too bad.

Mate, in a universe with infinite possibilities, you can't deny the possibility that, had she not taken the decision to go in (irrespective of what her motives were), our language, society, culture and way of life would probably be wiped and erased.

It will be anyway when the ocean swallows your nation.

Well, my picture plastered on multiple channels is what came to mind lol, I shed to think what would have happened if I had been caught crossing the border illegally. Although he seemed confident he had contacts on both sides.
But let's leave this story here lol

eyes that peer straight into the soul.
Believe me, I have never seen someone with eyes so piercing. This picture doesn't do it justice. He was standing with two generals, 3 star and 2 star, the head of the refugee camps, and an inspector general of police, and was completely at ease (my father and he had met in 44 near Cox's Bazar, when he was then in XIV Army).

eyes that peer straight into the soul. Thanks
All these are off-topic. Please can we take this off-thread?

You are talking out of Ignorance.
Just harping the usual propaganda. Carry on.

However there were certain administrative problems. For example my dad told me that for getting the job at WAPDA , my now slain by Mukti Bahini, uncle had to fly all the way to Karachi for the job interview, because they had no interview center in East Pakistan, for certain jobs in East Pakistan.
But Ayub Khan spent lots of money in East Pakistan. There was government funded subsidised housing, which was affordable for even a Bengali cycle Rickshaw driver.
Bengalis also had lower entrance scores for universities.

Haha, same culture and same language as Indians, you and indians are true brothers, stop lying...
A Bengali saying this is rich. LMFAO

Bangladesh is an authoritarian dictatorship. The only thing they have to brag about is their economy which is good only because of the control of the dictator which is not sustainable.

How ARE you, dear Sir?

I have not been well, but am back as I recover slowly. It is good to be back, even in a limited way. How are you? How did you get through the pandemic?

Well, that is good to hear about your health.

So I have given up on most Pakistani social media. Was finding that it was turning me in a toxic person. So much happier now :)

Yeah, mostly survived. Ready to go back to normal!

nah, Biharis belong wherever they go. nothing you can do about it.
it's upto them to judge whether buying the Pakistan dream and migrating thousands of kilometres to experience what they did was worth it or not, you shouldn't be war crime apologia for that.
My grandmother told me that soon after partition they faced total boycott by the Hindu population in their area, and Hindus were a majority in their part of Bihar.
Nobody would talk to them or interact with them in any way. They became aliens in their ancestral land.
My grandfather had a business and no Hindu would buy from h8m for him being a Muslim. That caused swear financial hit and insecurity due to alienation.
Those were the reasons they migrated to the nearest part of Pakistan, then east Pakistan, today's Bangladesh.
But he could salvage some of his wealth and br8ng it to east Pakistan. With that he bought agricultural lands, and was very successful at that .
Other parts of Bihar saw lot more than just boycott of Muslims, instead there was a bloodbath.
So Bihari Muslim migration had legitimate reasons.
My grandmother had no regrets, about migration, even after losing her husband and son by the hands of Bengalis , and having to leave everything behind for the second time and facing far brutal reasons of migration than she faced in her ancestral lands of Bihar.
She still said she was happy that Pakistan came into being and she migrated to Pakistan.

More Biharis and non Bengalis were killed in the '71 conflict by Muktis then was the case of Non-Bengalis killing Bengalis. Wonder why no mass graves of supposed Bengalis massacres were found, because none existed.

There hasn't been a thorough impartial investigation done by international parties of the atrocities because that just suited the Bangladeshis and Indians otherwise they would have been exposed as the real perpetrators, e.g. bombing of an orphanage by IAF in Dhaka and immediately blaming PAF.

This false narrative needs to stop and liberal ex-commie socialist Pakistanis who like apologizing to Bengalis should apologize to them for their socialist/liberal forefathers' sin of denying Bengalis their true enfranchisement.

Personally I would have accepted Pakistan apologizing to Bangladesh had Bangladesh not advocated independence.

I mean how stupid can one get to advocate independence and help India to divide us?

What about trying those Bangladeshis for treason for advocating independence?
