Pakistan Mulls NATO Offer to Ship Afghan Supplies Through Gwadar Port

Guys, I don't feel good on this attempt of NATO....Gwadar is too sensitive area for Americans.
I feel opposite, there dependence on Balochistan might bring the insurgency down in Balochistan! And they won't be against Gwadar like India is once they start using it.

. . . . .
If this news is true the rational behind it might be to make Balochistan important and have them depend heavily on it. In this case the US wouldn't want Balochistan to break from Pakistan as others intend to do this. Either way this isn't confirmed. All News outlets should not be trusted.

China will agree with it. And indeed I would bet few Yuans that China might even be pushing for it. The reasons are simple. Everybody knows blocking US logistics and ATT will be short term. Nobody in their right minds expects that Pakistan will block US/ATT supply permanently. Not sure if even China would agree with that or support such a policy. The Chinese are 100 times stronger then Pakistan but their approach with US is deft and moving forward with extreme care. It is not brutalistic. Besides Pak political and military leadership has been bought out by Saudi's. And Saudi's are US poodles. Theefore I can't see Pak leadership crapping on two tiers of overlordship anytime soon. Posturing yes. Real substance no.

However the reason this is great idea is it offers benefits on many vital fronts. First if NATO/ATT use Gwadar it will give it a starting boost which will help to bring in extra business. The port will begin to flourish with NATO/ATT providing the required boost. This would then be great international exposure to Gwadar as a functioning post. In addition it would reduce dependance on Karachi/Port Qasim which MQM uses to raise funding from the "toll" it extracts from containers. So this is win win for all.

@Chinese-Dragon

I'm not opposed to the idea as long as China backs it and we get some real dough out of it. Otherwise it is futile. We don't want Gwadar to become another Karachi story.

The idea definitely has its pros.

But question arises why do they want Gwadar?

That is actually a good question. The news article states that the route seems to be more economical.

Pak government is still licking Yankee boots after all the shit they are doing to Pak.

The people won't tolerate this BS without Chinese consent. Besides, the civilian government is not the only party which needs to provide approval. I don't think this will go ahead. That is my personal opinion.

Look at the map. Don't believe Indian cacophony about Chah Bahar. Gwadar is the best point on the Afghan, Central Asia hinterland extending in fact up north to even middle Russia. If the Chinese agree [don't forget port is ran by Chinese company] and a propert profitable rates are fixed this would be a great idea. Perfact to get Gwadar rolling ....

Its more to do with logistics apparently than some strategic move. They told Pak gov.
“NATO people told us it would be extremely convenient for them in terms of quick transportation of supplies from Gwadar directly to Kandahar. They are very interested and we are working on it,” Bizenjo told VOA in an interview.

I don't know why I am feeling so alarmed at this...If Pakistan, in future, decides to shut down the supplies, US will get excuse for an attack on Baluchistan as well...

I am not all for this...Don't include anything American in Baluchistan...They are trying to expand their destruction/evil to Baluchistan and looking for excuses to hurt Baluchistan...

This is reported by VOA - US governments mouthpiece. And they are quoting Bazinjo our Minister for ports and stuff. Pakistan hasn't yet responded to their request of using Gwadar though.

They told and we believed???

We are inviting Americans' interference into Baluchistan...In my opinion, Not at all good...

The timing of this offer is so fishy...At the time, when reports are surfacing of potential Chinese base at Gwadar and Iran-Pak reconciliation.....Americans suddenly want Gwadar because it is too economical than Karachi????

They go through Karachi and use airspace for free. Do you these leaders
have the balls to charge these yankees an arm and a leg?

they pay 1 hundred and 70 thousand USD per container at the moment....

and listen to defence ministers statement yesterday

.
They should allow charge them as per international port charges etc. It will bring more countries to join CPEC and also bambo to indians lol.
