Either China for expertise/investment, KSA/gulf nations for investment or simply a homegrown project. Pak army must be involved if we want this project to succeed without delays and corruption.

Exactly. This is a very sensitive project for Pakistan. These are the resources of the people of Pakistan.

The same Western nations that don’t want to invest in Pakistan and label it all sorts of names, are suddenly eager to invest in such a project. That is no coincidence.

The previous bastard regimes have sold out Pakistan. Again, we suffered the consequences of corruption and mismanagement and today this project should have been going ahead full steam. Instead the project is delayed due to contract breach allegations.

This project is now in good and safe hands. Only a few select parties should be able to invest and help Pakistan explore these resources. Chinese government and Gulf investors are the only trustworthy parties coming to my mind. Resolve all outstanding disputes and take the loss on the chin. Severely punish the culprits and get on with the new strategy of mining and enriching Pakistan.

What have the previous regimes in Pakistan done to improve labor skill etc.? Enriching Pakistan was never the goal. Apart from self-enrichment and corruption these bastards had no other purpose.

because we have issues with security and its armys job to clear the area which they have done successfully (Allah shukar) in past and then hand it over to GoP.

because wealth in Pakistan is concentrated amongst few families that have only chosen to service it seeking low returns and not invest it. In fact most of these families lost their wealth because they chose not to invest in areas which were risky but also extremely profitable.

yes offcourse because normal people make stupid decisions to keep same old politicians around them and politicians keep them the stupid they want their own people so they stay in power.
if society decide they dont want to do somthing no one can force them. But here we are still and crying about military and politicians.

besides CEPC is something about which all the stake holders have had a single stance. i would go beyond and say that CPEC is kind of proved to be a launch pad for reqo dik

PA not only has combat engineering battalions but is backed by FWO assets as well. That is tens of thousands of support troops and civil/retd element.

These all assets when push comes to shove will be used in war effort.

However, with a minuscule budget how do we finance, train and maintain a capability for war effort. You use the assets in civil sector so that these assets are adequately trained for war effort while generating revenue in order to remain self sufficient.

Instead of being a white elephant, FWO is currently engaged in several motorway projects on project financing basis. I know so because the department that I work for in a bank has financed two of these projects.

FWO is also currently going for own cement plant (if the economic conditions allow so). 50-70% of the the capacity will be used for own captive use. They have become so big that they need own cement plant in order to ensure the raw material availability and to control the cost of raw material.

Going forward you can expect FWO to expand its foot print further.

Better to use FWO in a Joint venture instead of a foreign firm considering the ample human resource available in Pakistan.
