I believe it is medium range interceptor missile---a couple of website say around 11500 ft altitude----correction needed. For high altitude---we really need a dedicated system.

Between 15-20000 ft, medium range in nature

I guess we need long range air defence system reaches upto 60,000ft at least.... Similiar to S-300 kind....I guess we already have the medium range defence system form China as well as from Europe/US.....
