Pakistan loses textile export share in world market by 23pc!

TEXTILES IS ALL THE PAKISTANIS have ever exported.

50% of their tiny $20 billion exports
is/was TEXTILES.

The competition is offering better quality , much more efficient , better marketing and far more options.

BUT their answer will be CPEC........... " what ever that is suppose to bring "

ALL EGGS IN ONE BASKET ....... CPEC & CHINA god for bid if the chinease change their attitude toward Pakistan. MY GOD the risk and narrow mindmess and lack of diversification is shocking

.
Surcharges are being added for the next several decades (probably generations) to repay the loans taken under CPEC to build the power stations which are already 1-2 generations behind in efficiency and part owned by the Chinese.
Pakistan exports gets GSP+ status from Europe and the US, unlike India and China whose products have to pay a full wedge of taxes and duties.
Pakistan has with CPEC loan repayments effectively priced itself out of the its own markets even with the benefit of GSP and GSP+ given to the least developed countries (LDC)

Do You Even Know The Surcharges Levied They Are TR Surcharge, PTV License Fees,FC Surcharge,NJ Surcharge and Electricity Duty Paid To Provincial Governments None Of Them Have Anything To Do With CPEC

.
Pakistan has only CPEC as her last hope.

All her eggs are in a single basket.

They can only pray and request China to implement CPEC asap, otherwise they very soon will have to approch IMF for a bail-out, all over again.
Ok mr. Economist. Your jealousy towards CPEC is admirable and understandable, until or unless you don't know the ground realities kindly just don't poke your nose with some stupid input.

Our textiles exports are going down cause of the major energy crisis, customers won't wait forever for their products, time is the money and they want the best at the lowest price in the minimum time, understood. And mind you only EU granted us GDP + status and that is only recently not the USA.

Stop worrying about our eggs, you should start worrying about your own eggs as they are being kicked almost everyday at the border, tiny exports or not, it's none of your concern, in spite of being our exports at lower side people have better sanitary sense and facilities unlike your 700 million. Think about it.

Power consumers to pay for CPEC security

"The CPEC was heralded as a game changer for the Pakistan economy. So far its security cost has taken its toll on Balochistan, the power consumers and over all public. " "THE NATION"

"But greater transparency is needed in the financing of CPEC projects. Otherwise, hidden costs of all sorts will start getting bundled into whatever recovery machinery there is, whether power tariffs of gas surcharges or whatever else."

Thankyou for addressing me politely. Such gestures seems like things of the past on PDF.:D

Our textiles exports are going down cause of the major energy crisis, customers won't wait forever for their products, time is the money and they want the best at the lowest price in the minimum time, understood.

You yourself has diagnosed the problem which is, Pakistan's falling exports. Either get CPEC gererating revenues and foreign exchange for your economy or boost your textile exports. There is no rocket science here.

And mind you only EU granted us GDP + status and that is only recently not the USA.
Best of Luck. Hoping to find your economy in better shape soon.

W cannot generalize to all pakstani prodcts, but the few clothes "made in Pakistan", "made in Bangladesh" and "made in India", i can tell you that the quality of pakistanis made clothes were not goodat all...

Economic sanctions are going to be imposed on Pakistan shortly. So it is going get worse.
I doubt it

I had a shirt once made in Pakistan. It was good. It lasted for 5 years.

Pakistan's textile industry has seen a systematic free fall partly by design and partly by failure to adapt to the changing market and staying competitive.

Though cotton produced in Pakistan was or probably is considered a fine quality coupled with skillful traditional history.

Once the power shortage is not our worry we would be able to reclaim our rightful place in the business.

Both Bongladesh and India have enjoyed the market because of the cheap resource.

Turkey has recently expressed in expanding its reach along with China and Indonesia. Potential is there and experience too. There is definitely hope and positivity and the will around.

Is there any particular reason for the quality to worsen ?
