Pakistan left India behind in field of research, stands beside China in research technology

@N.Siddiqui @LeGenD @VCheng
Pakistan was ahead of India in research in Organic Chemistry & Magneto Hydrodynamics even prior to the HEC.. 40 german students came to Pakistan to do their PhD's at HEJ, Karachi...

I knew about it, HEJ was initiated by Dr. Salimuzamman Siddiqui, a pioneer in the filed of Bio-tech and Chemistry...

You should post here more articles and links instead of replying to the members questioning your claims. I will do my bit...

How can this be an achievement? True or not....

This paradigm needs to change to examples which matter i.e. China.

Compared to China is the right paradigm in all aspects of development.

From poverty reductions to pure reasearch... from industrial base to functional strength of governance...

Comparisons such as in the title of this thread make soundbites but mean jack on the ground.

High time for Pak to start benchmarking China and move forward.

What India is or is not... can not/should not be Pak's concern. Time to move on...

PAEC is doing extremely well in nuclear medicine and running the civilian nuclear plants as well...

The history of pursuing nuclear medicine goes back to 1956, when the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) was established under the executive order of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy. The PAEC, the scientific body who is responsible for establishing the nuclear power plants in the country, has sat up a Nuclear Medicines laboratory. The PAEC also sat up the nuclear medicines lab and facilities throughout the country to fight against Cancer.

I agree with on that we should compare with China and I think the shift is visible .. As per the title, it is as per the news ..

A lot of research happens in the defence organisations but it never makes it to public. For example, Pakistan built four plutonium based nuclear power plants without any external help because of mil use to develop Pu-based nukes and fusion and boosted devices.

Also one should quote this more often than not.

...from the horse mouth, there cannot be much industrial base without the prerequisite R&D...Check NESCOM pak for instance.

Pakistan defence industrial base better than India: Army vice chief

A top Army general on Tuesday said Pakistan has a better military industrial base and exports more defence equipment than India, as he came down heavily on ordnance factories which manufacture weapons for the forces. Lt. Gen. Sarath Chand, Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS), said the ordnance factories have not been able to keep pace with changing technology while “there is no competition whatsoever” and it is “an unsuccessful method of supporting our defence requirements”.

I agree, here you are talking about the 4 Plutonium based nuclear reactors at Khushab, Pakistan....

There are many other center of excellence even Pakistanis didn't know...check PINSTECH, NILORE...now part of PIEAS(ranks highest in Pakistan)

Kahuta research labs...

Yes the ones at Pinstech purely for research and academic purposes. PIEAS has many world class scientists working in a reclusive environment.

Right, check this also.

Pakistan has invested heavily in recent years in renovating and expanding its nuclear infrastructure, including the parts related to making nuclear explosive materials. The Institute for Science and International Security monitors Pakistan’s nuclear activities and in this report examines Pakistan’s efforts to expand its capability to enrich uranium for nuclear power reactors and for use in nuclear weapons. The report outlines, using government budget documents, Pakistan’s progress in building a large-scale enrichment plant with the stated aim of making low enriched uranium for nuclear power reactors and,

ISLAMABAD - The Former Minister for science and technology. Atta-Ur-Rehman said that Pakistan has left India behind in the field of Research and now stands beside China in progress towards research technology Dr. Atta revealed the fact during the international conference on “Endorsing Health Science Research” held at Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan Auditorium, Ojha Campus of the Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS).

I'm sorry that's not correct. India has made leaps in research and has churned out industries as a result. He shouldn't make claims like this.
Look at the ranking for research papers;

https://www.scimagojr.com/countryrank.php

India at number 9, Pakistan at 46.
He is Dr. Atta bro not any other person and if he says that then he have very reliable info. I wish he is Part of Govt as Minister of research and development.

He is in heading the task force set up by PTI govt. Earlier he was adviser to PM in higher education in KPK...

When a nation elects, corrupts and thieves and those thieves and corrupts are killing merit and appointing the political workers and practice nepotism - in turn the public supports the corruption marred leaders; and there are two system of justice THEN that nation will be in a shit hole as per international standards - there is nothing wrong in Dr's claim but only he try to defend the Pakistan like a Pakistani; what most of us are doing on PDF by revealing our political affiliations even justifying the corrupt practices of the political parties and the leaderships.
