Pakistan laments US Trump’s withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal
  • The US president announced Tuesday that Washington would pull out of Iran nuclear deal and reinstate nuclear sanctions.
  • Islamabad says arbitrarily rescinding such agreements will undermine confidence in the value of dialogue and diplomacy in the conduct of international relations and the peaceful resolution of disputes.
ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has said US President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from Iran nuclear deal will undermine confidence in the value of dialogue and diplomacy in the conduct of international relations and the peaceful resolution of disputes.

“Pakistan believes that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) represents a very good example of a negotiated settlement of complex issues, through dialogue and diplomacy,” said a foreign ministry statement issued in Islamabad on Wednesday.

“We (Pakistan) had welcomed the JCPOA when it was concluded and hope that all parties would find a way for its continuation, especially when the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has repeatedly verified Iran’s compliance.

“We have noted the willingness of the parties to the Agreement to work together on upholding their respective commitments as stipulated in the JCPOA, despite the US decision to withdraw from it,” the statement further said.

It said Pakistan believes that International Treaties and Agreements concluded through painstaking negotiations are sacrosanct.

“Arbitrarily rescinding such agreements will undermine confidence in the value of dialogue and diplomacy in the conduct of international relations and the peaceful resolution of disputes,” said the statement.

Trump announced on Tuesday that Washington would pull out of Iran nuclear deal and reinstate nuclear sanctions on Iran.

This is while most world powers, including Russia, China, and the European Union have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of world peace and security.

Minutes after the US withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal, President Hassan Rouhani said from now on, the deal is an agreement between Iran and five countries.

This is a god send opportunity for Pakistan. Why should Pakistan lament? May be just a statement for its Shia public consumption.

Why is this a God sent opportunity for Pakistan? and all countries should condemn this rogue nation's bhaviour to an international treaty, the decision by fat orange monkey man to rescind this treaty undermines the word of America and the word of their President. Basically any treaty with America is worthless and open to whimsical change by man-childs.

As Iran and Chabahar port go down the drain, the importance of Gwadar port would exponentially increase especially for both Russia and China. Pakistan would become the sole regional power of the Persian gulf and the Arabian Sea.

Pakistan should be thanking President Trump.

Why do you say so such a crappy thing?

See my reply above

It sad that USA has distanced itself from JCPOA and this undermines the value of dialogue and treaties in the world. USA has a history of backtracking from its promises and this message should be understood by many countries including Pakistan.

Chabahar was never in competition with Gwader otherwise China would have shown interest in Chabahar. Rather Chabahar and Gwader ports complement each other and that is why there were plans to connect the two ports through roads and rail links. And Iranian govt clarified that Chabahar will not be used against Pakistan and we trusted them.

These types of statements are always issued for public consumption or to pay lip service or political correctness. China did invest in Iran and have been building Rail roads to Iran. May be you are trying to defend the indefensible for being politically correct which I can understand.

Definitely Iran and China have enjoyed good relations and Pakistan has played its role in fostering the relations between the two friendly countries and would continue to do so in future as well. China's investment in rail way sector of Iran does not pose any problem for Pakistan rather we were happy. However we are talking about Chabahar and as my stand is still valid on it.

Pakistan the banana country and one of the poorest countries in Middle East being the Sole regional power of Persian and Arabian Sea?

Seriously what reality do some of you guys live in?

Pakistan has ZERO power projection beyond its borders. It cannot even take care of the Taliban and Sunni extremists within its own borders, but is now suddenly going to be THE regional power of the persian Gulf?
That’s funny since Pakistan doesn’t even have even share a border to the Persian Gulf.

Lastly, I don’t think the West even cares what Pakistan has to say on this matter.

1) Pakistan is the only Islamic Nuclear power in the world

2) Gwadar deep sea port is at the mouth of the Persian gulf i.e Pakistan can control traffic in and out of Persian gulf

3) It is the Former Pakistan army chief Raheel Sharif who is leading the 'Muslim Nato' - Islamic Military Alliance to Fight Terrorism (IMAFT) and was instrumental in the recent securing of the Socotra island of Yemen from the Iran supported Houthi rebels.

4) SriLanka and Maldives lookup to Pakistan.

5) Pakistan has huge EEZ in Arabian Sea

These demonstrate why Pakistan is the going to be the lone regional power of Arabian sea once Iran falls.

You see we have 150 nuclear warheads and numerous delivery systems including MIRV capable missiles, SLCMs and Cruises

Iran dosent

Thats why the heat is on you, when you build the array of weaponry we have then they might leave you alone too

Iraq and Libya complied, North Korea did not.

Who is the survivor?

Is that why US drone strikes kill hundreds of your citizens?

Is that why US staged a military operation and violated Pakistan airspace to eliminate Osama Bin Laden?

Don’t fool yourself, Pakistan nuclear weapons do not make it safe. If the West wanted Pakistan to be defanged it would be. But Pakistan represents no threat to West economically or military. Military Pakistan cannot hope to stand against the US and NATO war machine. So your nukes or Chinese copied weapons do not scare the West one bit.

So again nuclear weapons don’t make you safer. Just like Assad’s chemical weapons didn’t make him any safer. When the west wants to topple countries it first tries to do it using non-state actors and fueling civil war. Pakistan is not immune from this given its social demographics and that is something it knows quiet well. So it listens to the West and allows the West to do what it needs to do.

The U.S screwed us sure,, but they also lost thousands of soldiers and spent a trillion in Afghanistan and of course its all down to the Taliban o_Oo_O:coffee:

They will AND HAVE tried their tricks in and against Pakistan but we have decimated networks of our enemies and kept our nation intact, we have the occasional terrorist attack but compared to 10 years ago its a walk in the park and we haven't ended up looking like Syria or iraq or Afghanistan a heap of rubble in the desert

We have utilised our allies but our our own scientists and engineers have worked miracles making us a nuclear power, and whilst our relationship with china is extensive they don't hand over MIRV and cruise missiles to us,, thats all us

Syria didn't have nuclear weapons and its a rubble heap
Iraq didn't have nuclear weapons and its a rubble heap
Libya didn't have nuclear weapons and its a rubble heap

Iran is 80 million with ZERO nuclear weapons and its a:coffee:
North Korea HAS nuclear weapons and its ok
Pakistan is 200 million with 150+nuclear warhead snd an array of sophisticated delivery systems and has thus far been resolute against the ill intentions of our enemies
