...But Pakistan-Israel relationship, I think, we should create a separate thread for that.

As I've pointed out so many times, the "Jews/Zionists are evil so Israel must be destroyed" meme so popular in Pakistan is a bunch of baloney. I argue those who claim otherwise into silence, circular arguments, or empty repetition, proving them either misguided or evil-seeking obscurantists. All this Zionist-hatred is keeping Pakistanis from thinking logically and morally and thus is feeding the terrorist monsters. So why shouldn't Pakistanis support normalizing relations with Israel as Pakistan has with Russia, India, or the rest of the world?

The short answer is that the Pakistani government has dictated that Pakistanis are not to question Pakistan's stance and that it is forbidden to represent Israel or the Israeli point of view accurately - a matter of blind loyalty reducing Pakistanis from citizens to mere subjects of the state, and slaving their own decision-making to the will of others. One human rights organization called this "an attack on fundamental freedoms:"

The directive is a product of a shallow and fascistic mindset that leads to radicalization in the society. It is also an attempt at institutionalizing mass clampdown of fundamental rights such as freedom of expression and assembly. It is unfortunate and condemnable that critical thinking is being banned in universities, instead of being encouraged and inculcated among the youth of Pakistan.

Yet maybe we could view the move in a different light, opening the room for more flexibility by the Pakistani government.

What if the Pakistani government decided to start the new year by announcing that it was normalizing relations with Israel, that the Palestinian Arabs demands were excessive, and that killing Jews for the sake of another Arab conquest should be considered a crime?

What feelings would that inspire in Pakistanis? Anger? Disbelief? Hope? Discuss.

We should have normal relations with Israel, it's within the interests of Pakistan. My views on the Israel Palestine conflict are a different matter entirely.
How can you have normal relations with a state whose actions you dont agree with? It would mean everytime they hit palestine you'll have to turn a blind eye to it.

Exactly my views. Pakistan and Israel came very close during former dictator Musharraf's era but it didn't help much as he was removed from power two years later:
In 2005, the foreign ministers of the two countries held talks for the first time. However, following the meeting Musharraf said Pakistan will not recognise the state of Israel until an independent Palestinian stateis established,—although, according to Musharraf, Pakistan will eventually recognize Israel.

Turkey has normal relations with Israel, they don't turn a blind eye...considering the fact they even subscribe to the religious angle.

EU (bar UK) is no longer turning a blind eye as well. Then there is South America too.

Pakistan should have relations with Israel. Forward thinking and independent nations devise their foreign policy based on their interests, and not religious allegiance or adherence. As Pakistan is neither independent nor forward thinking, I don't see any developments in the coming future.

I have my own views about Palestine, but they should not intervene in foreign relations. I also think that the right wing of each country is destroying their own countries.

Finally, Israel and Jews are better off because of Ashkenazi Jews. Without them, Jews and Israel would be another basket case of the Middle East.

Ironic...you talking about confusion when I wasn't even replying to you.

I would never bother myself replying or entertaining you, just for future reference.

Oh yeah, my bad. still the question stands.

I believe Pakistan should have relations with Israel. Both nations created the same time, only nations created for religious purposes.

Jordan and Egypt both have relations so why not Pakistan?
