LAHORE: Pakistan and India have confirmed participation of their key industry officials in a two-day workshop on cotton supply and its use in the 21st century, a statement said on Tuesday.

The conference will kick off on June 21 in the Chinese capital and discuss ways to improve systems of estimating supply and use of cotton in major economies,

The International Cotton Advisory Council (ICAC) said.

The workshop is likely to attract representatives from all the big cotton producing and consuming countries. The host of the workshop is China National Cotton Information Centre, the statement added. The ICAC will assist with organising the agenda of the workshop. The International Network for Bamboo and Rattan has agreed to provide their facilities including hotel rooms.

The workshop will give an opportunity to discuss best practices in estimating cotton supply and use, gathering and evaluation of data and coordinating different sets of information between agencies.
