Yes agreed ... but at the bottom tier.
We have to be prudent in our decisions and choices because of the scarcity of funds.
Lets not forget that FC-20 are not that cheap either and the duration of their efficacy at the top tier will be brief.
Lets not forget that our Vipers and Thunders too will be at the bottom tier and before that happens we would be hard pressed to induct something for the top tier.
Also with 8+ submarines to be ordered, some surface ships also required along the way and Gunships and upgrading army assets etc etc all are needed to be funded over the years (albeit with soft credit) ... along with getting the economy back on track ... is at the moment seems to be a tall order.

Like I said in my previous post ... I would be praying for this to happen ... but would my prayers get answered ... that is something only the future will disclose.

Other areas of collaboration have included China’s supply of four new frigates and talks continue on the sale of six submarines. Taken together, these items form the bulk of Pakistan’s military arsenal.

FC-31 is not gonna be our horse. Our 5th Gen would be coming from Chegdu. J-31's gonna take a long time to mature and its gonna be very expensive given PLAAF doesn't go for it. Any such airframe is gonna cost in the vicinity of 200 mio $ per piece. There is nothing concrete that PAF has been involved in FC-31. PAF's partner in China has been CAC and this is where from the 5th gen would likely come.

Frankly it will all depend on how much Pakistan can pay without defaulting (even after soft term loans).
Also keep in mind that Xi is coming with already a huge pledge of 46 billion USD investment. How much more he can stretch it and how much Pakistan reach deep into its pockets will depend on factors and variables that we probably don't have too much clarity to formulate even an assumption.

It would be nicer to have 1.5 squadrons of J-10C for every 1 squadron of Rafael that IAF acquires. It would be nicer still to have more F-16's too to counter the ever growing MKI fleet, and their eventual upgrade to Super MKI.

And we need to pick up the pace on development, production & induction of Thunder.

Agreed. PAC need to pick up the pace on development. Also consider navy after all it's a Four Dimensional Force !
Why navy has no Thunders yet :/
