Pakistan hopes for defence cooperation with Vietnam

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Minister of National Defence, received Pakistani Ambassador to Vietnam Zaigham Uddin Azam at the ministry’s Headquarters on August 8th.

The guest held that Pakistani leaders always believed Vietnam would gain more rapid economic development in the coming time, and that Vietnam and Pakistan have a great potential for economic cooperation.

The Pakistani diplomat said during his term of office in Vietnam, he desired to contribute to establishing and enhancing the bilateral defence cooperation relationship.

The Vietnamese general hoped that the two countries’ ties would be reinforced and promoted, contributing to the peace and stability in the region and the world as a whole.

He affirmed Vietnam is willing to welcome Pakistani officers to the country for study as well as other Pakistani representatives to set up their cooperation in the areas of mutual concern.

We won't mind since Pakistan even has the defence cooperation with the US, this doesn't even affect our relationship.

Pakistan and Japan have a fairly good relationship, so I don't think the Chinese will care much if Pakistan cooperates with Vietnam. Besides, Pakistan is a sovereign state, the Chinese won't interfere in Pakistan's international relationships.

I don't think our government would care, I also don't think there is too much outcome in their cooperation.

But if they did produce some results and reported by China media, I believe our people's negative opinion about Pakistan would slip into another level from already pathetic current number.

Pakistan is a time tested friend of China, it is probably the only ally we truely trust. I feel China has nothing to worry about here and I believe our relationship will continue to prosper regardless. Good luck Pakistan and Vietnam.

exactly we should be open-minded. China works to improve relationship to India, which is a good move as well.

China is the only country we trust in the world. We didn't interfere when they were doing business with India. I hope our relations with Vietnam will not affect our relationship as we won't betray each other. I don't think there would be any problem from China because business is business and they know it.
