What's new

Pakistan going to induct ZBL-09 Armored personnel carrier

These machines can not be used on regular basis . Require lot of maintenance and doesn't provide enough protection against weapon terrorist are using now. UAV , attack helicopter and any type of air support is now compulsory pre-req of any operation.
This machine is good only in urban warfare, where driver knows streets and safe corner to load and unload soldiers or carry any rescue operation.
Now Pak army pattern is almost change, they are now the most advance in countering anti terror operation. PA is now emphasis more on anti-mine and anti-IED units. When operation starts, first Air strike, then air aviation and anti-IED units clear the area of advancing units.
Like COAS alert the new soldiers about new pattern of war in coming future. Where we took his statement, just a part of speech. Which was not....it was warning for new officers...

* TAPV is a light armored recon vehicle.
* Lazar2 was for Sindh Police
* Snow Leopard is an IFV

In other words, Army is looking for a Stryker division.

If TAPV, Snow Leopard, VT-4 are truly coming to HIT, then its a brilliant news. HIT will certainly gain a lot of technical know how from these projects.
What you mean by Stryker Division

US leaving lots of these behind, but it seems Greece will get these machines. Stryker

I would actually like to see Pakistani input on the next generation of these vehicles. Decades of experience in anti terror, that experience is valuable, very valuable.

Since we are very good friends, be good if Pakistan Officers and NCOs conduct seminars and lectures for the PLA.

In terms of effectiveness, it's pretty effective for what it's build for. Chinese military hardware are no longer cheap and ineffective, but the problem is, with your experience and our inexperience you might see a lot of things that a Chinese engineer wouldn't think of.

A good example is when two british officers that came to China to train, and one of the things they noticed is Chinese solders always keep their guns on their backs and not at the ready, which is a experience learn in combat. In China why would anybody need their weapons at the ready, seems a waste of time.

. . . .
so its mean HIT tom cat APC failed ?

Probably, most likely but would still be in low production, we can't expect every product to be a big success. Interesting thing is Pakistan is buying multiple products what is interesting is "Money/Funds" for all this.

So this is the new "B-7 APC" we've been hearing about.

@Genesis
Any vehicle of this order would have to be desert optimized in order to meet PA requirements. Since this vehicle would be produced by HIT in 700+ numbers, there would be a lot of strip downs and add ons. Development of a PA standard IFV will be the right way to work together with the Chinese firms and to share our experiance in COIN and Desert Warfare.

It is going to be awesome if that's true rumors. :woot:

This will make life easier for our troops to combat terrorism, Pakistan ignore this matter for so long times.

.
PA should think about all versions of strykers.

the army is in the market for a 120mm SP howitzer.

sorry i meant 120mm SP Mortar.

all western types of such IPV/APC's are cost prohibitive. if the news is correct the army would be interested in the 120mm SP Mortar as it would be more effective than tanks being used in the FATA. about the numbers being quoted, i am doubtful as PA only orders in small batches.
