Decades of mismanagement and outright stealing by the politicians and elites of the country are bearing the expected results.

Pakistan is only surviving because of foreign donor's handouts and nothing will change until its own people change what they are doing to the country and its institutions.

Look at PIA as an example; once a top airline, responsible for numerous feats and records, responsible for starting and helping countless other airlines, whats it state now?

Pakistan does not beg anything !! its just a name. People are real beggers like the Leadership we have !! First ruin everything then steal whats left !! I remember a cartoon way back in 1993 or 1994 when Benezir was PM, "" she is admonishing Zardari as to why Pakistan came 2nd as most corrupt country in the world, she is asking zardari how thats possible when i have you as my husband"" !!!!

Here is a small story of three homies: Sam, David and and Abdul.

It's cricket season and both David and Abdul. decide to buy a cricket bat each. So both David and Abdul. approach Sam, the rich guy, for a loan.

Sam thinks that lending money to David is less risky than that to Abdul., because David is an old friend who is quite well to do, while Abdul. is poor.

So Sam says that David can pay him back with Rs. 5 as interest on the loan , while Abdul. has to pay Rs. 10 for the same loan.

This high rate makes borrowing money very difficult for Man like Abdul., doesn't it ?

But wait.. David gets a wicked idea... He makes an offer to Abdul. : It's David who will borrow from Sam and give it to Abdul. for an interest of Rs. 7.

Abdul. is happy because he has to pay only Rs. 7 interest (instead of 10)
Sam is happy because he gets interest on his idle money.
But happiest of them all is David . Why ?
because he pays Rs. 5 interest to Sam, but gets Rs. 7 from Abdul..

So, not only is he making money in the process, he is also earns 'street rep' as he makes this look like charity.
Abdul. has to return the favour in other different ways.. like letting David bat first.. or perhaps do fielding for him on days David feels tired.

Sam and David find this good business .. they want this to last forever. So in order to give themselves an upper hand, Sam and David make sure Abdul. stays poor and indebted to all, forever.


We have a fancy term for whatever David and Sam conspire here. This is the story of foreign aid.
