SHARJAH: Pakistan will face West Indies in the first one-day international at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday, ARY News reported.
After whitewashing the Twenty20 champions West Indies in the T20 series under the captaincy of Sarfraz Ahmed, it is now upto Azhar Ali to take the reigns of the unpredictable Pakistani side and lead them to victory.
Azhar Ali’s leadership has come under fire following the horror show in the ODI series against England, which they lost 4-1.
Pakistan has only managed to win two out of their previous 10 games. The side has to whitewash the West Indies team in order to regain eighth spot in the ICC ODI rankings.
Umar Akmal, Rahat Ali, Sharjeel Khan and Asad Shafiq making their ODI comeback in the series against West Indies.
The two former champions will clash for the first time since their encounter in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
The first game of the three-match series will start at 04.00 pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST) today.
