Slightly off-topic:

F/A-18 pilot: "I'd take a slick, brand-new F-16 every time...it is the sexiest, most aggressive fighter ever made".

F-18 is virtually unbeatable in the subsonic regime but its performance falls off pretty steeply in the trans and supersonic regime. Since trans sonic regime is important for modern day aerial maneuvers, the F-16 is the more well-rounded fighter.
