Pakistan eyes $40bn aid from donors

You are getting your reimbursements separately. This is in addition to the money that you get for your support(?)

What about the constant bombs that explode in Pakistan and all the potential investors/tourists that ran away from Pakistan because of the security situation. What about the reimbursements regarding that, also the US has been holding money back for the recent operations.

My 2 cents ...

1. Why not create special economic zones for this FoP countries. Allow them special rebates and other incentives.
2. Ask FoP countries to outsource small scale industrial work to pakistan.
3. Ask FoP countries to aid in infrastructure projects and health care projects.

The point im trying to make is, concentrate on making this aid available at grass root level, if not directly as funds, then as social projects.

Whom will you blame that US is holding the money back? Wasn't your Army & Navy accused that they forged bills & cheated US?

There were reports of double billing - but that dos not automatically indicate that it was done deliberately, or what the Pakistani response to those reports was. Bear in mind that you are looking at over a billion in reimbursements, so you do have a massive amount of billing and invoices being compiled, and its entirely possible that inadvertent errors were made.

Your argument of 'forging bills and cheating' is completely unsubstantiated at this point.

The US and Pakistan have an agreement that Pakistan will be reimbursed for expenses incurred in conducting military operations in support of the WoT and providing logistic support. If the US wants to change the agreement or end it that is fine, but till then they have a commitment and obligation to reimburse Pakistan and for the US to not do so is 'cheating'.

The F-16 embargo come to mind here again ..

This thread is simply oozing of negative sentiments of the Pakistani ppl towards their economy...cheer up guys...things are not just black and white...there are many shades of grey in between.

First of all I dont think Pakistan shd beg for any aid frm any one coz it wont be 'aid' at all. In today's materialistic world everything comes at a price. Aid at the price of freedom shd be unwelcome in Pakistan. Look at what price u guys hv to pay for American aid...Uncle Sam s always asking u to look west.

I think Pakistan by itself has a great potential to grow into a developed nation...u might suffer set backs but that doesn't mean u hv to suffer others for their pittance.

Just imagine if Pakistan severs ties with US n refuses to cooperate with them...what s the worst that cud happen...dont tell me they l bomb u... Pakistan will go down deep only to rocket back to the top without anyone pulling you back....pls believe in democracy...an army however strong it is or whatever it does for the country, at the end of the day its jobs s only to protect its ppl n not dictate them...at least with a democracy one has the power to reward or punish its leaders at the end of 5 yrs without fear of getting slaughtered.

That is the most optimistic way of looking at it. If you want to believe that there have been just unadvertant mistakes, misplaced invoices, things are all so rosy, its your privilage.

But in today's world, when there are army officials in power, comparatively weaker political system, billions of dollars on stake, it is more likely that there is corruption.

Unless there is categorical evidence indicating deliberate forging and deceit, I see no validity in the assertion in your last post.

Demanding evidence before indulging conspiracy theories is not 'optimism', and you have not presented any evidence in support of your argument.
