Pakistan Expels Indian Envoy, Suspends Trade Over Kashmir

Yes this needs to happen ASAP.

If am not wrong, Indian govt expected all these measures... such decisions will taken place along with certain countermeasures.... expect few in that war room... we don't have clue about the timing...

These measures of trade ban, air space closure and recalling Pakistani envoy / expelling indian envoy etc requires preperation and execution. With Air Space ban, things have to take shape methodically, through proper channels. My understanding is that this Air Space closure will be comprehensive and indefinite, hence careful maneuvering is taking place with legal framework in mind. Things will start accelerating as these measures are hammered in, one after another. Bare in mind, this would be just the start, as momentum builds up on the diplomatic offensive and legal cases field in the ICJ - Hague.

Whichever way you look at it, when Pakistan's response comes into force, it will be a relentless barrage of measures that will only increase in intensity. Think of it like a military offensive, but these measures will have far reaching consequences for India, the likes of which they wouldn't have any answer for.

Like I said, in war, the sound and cool minds inflict the heaviest blows to the enemy, blows that knock the enemy down, permanently.

.
Not necessarily. IOK is a disputed territory according to every international standard. Pakistan providing moral support to Kashmiri freedom fighters is a legitimate cause.
you may be right but I am basing my argument on reaction of International community after Pulwama incident

They might be expecting some, some they won't that remains to be seen.

These are SYMBOLIC MEASURES ....

Hmm thats really going to be very bad for India economically. I am afraid India going to be bankrupt once Pakistan stops trade. None of the above will have any impact. Total trade between India Pakistan is not even 1%

What options Pakistan military got against India. None.
Right...hummm!!!
Moral bankruptcy comes before economic bankruptcy....
It will be innate hate of Pakistan and indian Muslims, as a matter of fact for all Muslims that will bankrupt India.

Finally aggressive approach by government of pakistan.never seen this type of approach in the past.we must do something so that they make the mistake.they must start war.kulbhushan case is an opportunity for pakistan.indians are enjoying on the streets of kashmir.if we hang kulbhushan, they will start war.we can provoke them.it is very simple.

I agree with you. We did get soft, and we were too busy fighting the TTP and other radical elements to have been fully focused there. But ask yourself this question, has there been any major attack in the last four years? No, cause he cleaned house, and we are not distracted. India knows that if it were to launch a terrorist attack inside Pakistan, Mumbai would be blasted with 10 suicide bombs within a week.

We have lost atleast 15 to 20 of our men in last week or so, there was a bomb blast just yesterday in Quetta, unless we don't see Quetta as our main city!! We need to wake up!

There has to be a sustained and relentless purse of causing law and order situation among the enemy nations. This is the most lethal, quick and effective way of bringing down their economies. We have suffered ourselves, of all people, we should know this.

Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN) — Pakistan has announced it will downgrade diplomatic relations and suspend bilateral trade with India after New Delhi stripped the disputed state of Jammu and Kashmir of its special status.
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan's office said in a statement Wednesday that Islamabad would also review bilateral agreements with India and take the issue up with the United Nations and the UN Security Council.

On Tuesday, India's parliament voted to reclassify the state of Jammu and Kashmir as a union territory, giving the government in New Delhi greater authority over the contested Muslim-majority region, which is also claimed by Pakistan.

The day before, the Indian government announced it was revoking a provision in the constitution which had granted special status and powers to the state.
Pakistan's military had previously warned it would "go to any extend" to fight the changes, the country's chief of army staff said Tuesday.

Indian occupied Kashmir remains in lockdown amid a communications blackout, with landline connections, internet and mobile coverage all suspended. Tens of thousands of additional Indian troops have also been deployed into the already heavily militarized region to head off unrest.
The scrapping of Article 370 of the Indian constitution will also allow non-residents to purchase property in the valley, and apply for jobs or scholarships that had previously been reserved for the state's residents -- a move experts fear could lead to a demographic change in Hindu-dominated India's only Muslim-majority state.

The remote mountainous region of Ladakh, currently part of Jammu and Kashmir, will also be separated and turned into a standalone union territory, the government said.

Relations between the nuclear powers of India and Pakistan have been strained since February, when Pakistan reportedly shot down two Indian fighter jets over Kashmir and captured one of the pilots. India said it had retaliated by shooting down a Pakistani jet, which fell on the Pakistan side of the border.
Pakistan released the captive pilot in March and the situation calmed -- but India's Kashmir vote has inflamed tensions again.

On Tuesday, Khan accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ruling party of believing "that Muslims should be ethnically cleansed in India."

"If the world does not act now, if the so-called developed world does not uphold its own laws, then things will go to a place that will damage the whole world," said Khan.

China, which controls about 20% of the Kashmir region, has also protested India's decision, with the Chinese Foreign Ministry accusing India of encroaching on Chinese territorial sovereignty.
Spokeswoman Hua Chunying said on Tuesday that scrapping Article 370 "is unacceptable and will have no effect," and urged India to "strictly abide by the relevant agreements reached by both sides."

China has close economic, diplomatic and military ties with Pakistan, making it one of the nation's closest allies in region.

India's foreign ministry responded that the bill was "an internal matter concerning the territory of India. India does not comment on the internal affairs of other countries and similarly expects other countries to do likewise."

Kashmir on lockdown
Kashmir is one of the world's most dangerous flashpoints, and has been the epicenter for more than 70 years of an often violent territorial conflict between the Pakistan and India.

The mountainous Kashmir region was free to accede to either India or Pakistan after the two countries separated in 1947. When the Hindu king of Jammu and Kashmir chose to join India in exchange for military protection, it became the country's only Muslim-majority state.
The India-controlled Jammu and Kashmir state covers around 45% of Kashmir, in the south and east of the region, while Pakistan controls Azad Kashmir, Gilgit and Baltistan, which cover around 35% of the total territory in the north and west.

Skirmishes along the de facto border between Indian-controlled Kashmir and Pakistani-controlled Kashmir, known as the Line of Control, continue to break out periodically. Earlier this year, two Pakistani soldiers were killed in cross-border fire with Indian forces, according to the country's military.

But with Jammu and Kashmir now on lockdown, and further change imminent, many Kashmiris are reeling with shock.

"Unprecedented horror in Kashmir," tweeted Shah Faesal, a prominent politician from Kashmir who arrived in New Delhi yesterday. "From citizens to subjects ... A people whose land, identity, history, was stolen, in broad day light."

In addition to the communication blackout, a number of prominent politicians have also been placed under house arrest, including at least two former chief ministers of the state, according to CNN affiliate CNN-News18.
Faesal was unable to reach or message the two former chief ministers, he said in a separate Facebook post.

Until last week, Indian authorities had said the deployment of extra troops were in response to a potential security threat in the region. But residents were tense even before the announcement on Monday, rushing to secure essential supplies.

Now, with news of the bill confirmed, "people are in shock," Faesal wrote.
"Everyone is mourning what we lost ... It's the loss of statehood that has hurt people deeply. This is being seen as the biggest betrayal by the Indian state in last 70 years."

Correct, but there is a reason why many Pakistanis choose giant Indian stores. They have vast supplies & variety of even Pakistani products. Plus they have a much lower rate compared to tiny Pakistani grocery stores. Things can change tremendously if these tiny stores join their resources and establish chain stores.
They should do that. A tweeter trend could be started. I have never used tweeter so some active social media geek can do some good there.

Can the the title be changed to. Unconfirmed? Or is it confirmed?
