I know. But their sleuths know where the assets are and how to get hold of them.

Btw, recourse to the Chinese have?

It is not for me to say what China should or should not do. I am merely describing the weight China keeps adding to Pakistan's financial burden, that is all.
China keeps adding to Pakistan's financial burden...? my goodness, do you think China wants to do it? what do you expect China to do? If China doesn't, you will definately blame China for not helping and a good weather friend, If China does, you blame China for "adding burden to Pakistan's financial burden"...so China is damned either way.

The Chinese can use their financial leverage to sabotage any rescue plans Pakistan may institute, just like discounted deals to a druggie from their dealer to keep them hooked.

what do you expect China to do?

Like I said before, it is not for me to say what China should or should not do. I am merely seeing the issue from Pakistan's side.

Why China is working this hard as you claimed to sabotage Pakistan? do you think China has nothing else to be busy with?

For the third time, what China should not should not be doing is not for me to judge. China has plenty of internal issues to keep it busy, yes.

But you sound like China designs to hurt Pakistan, maybe we Chinese fools indeed rushed in where western angels fear to tread, you can blame China for everything as you always do in PDF, maybe we are indeed wrong, after many Chinese engineers and teachers being blown up, we are still going and investing, kind of stupid, isn't it.

I am no agent for PRC, but at this time anything that changes hand from Pakistan to PRC cannot but be good since it will most likely be more productive. The greatest foreign policy triumph for the GOP would be to motivate and convince PRC that making Pakistan a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of PRC, like Hong Kong, would be in both countries interest. Pakistan will instantly be recapitalized and get a capable administrator. Better than slowly selling piece by piece and sending the proceeds to foreign banks of the 'leaders'.
You do understand this could mean an end to "Islamic" part of the Pakistan special admin region?
This is some reasoning though. It's like asking to be colonized!

@beijingwalker

what do you expect China to do?

I expect China to waive off all dues on Pakistan at the bare minimum, given that it has made claims of being its taller than mountain, deeper than ocean, sweeter than honey friend.

@VCheng sb

The Chinese can use their financial leverage to sabotage any rescue plans

If Pakistan can repudiate all Chinese dues, they may not need any rescue plans to meet other liabilities

It could happen, but unlikely IMO.

You expect? I was not talking to Indians, we all know what Indians expect for Pakistan.

Pakistan is quite pragmatic in that regard. They would gladly accept SAR status (or even Autonomous Region status) if it means palming off the headache of running the country to someone else. BTW, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is Islamic and still part of China.
