Exactly and its a long game. We have realized the real problem just now. We were being fooled in the name of nationalism and patriotism and our love for our country blinded us but now we can see what was going on ...

Dude, I seldom get involved in these lorry adda hotel politics and debates.
The question is, if this was happening, why was everyone sleeping for last 50+ years and now suddenly, the armed forces are the targets.
Imagine if PAF with other armed forces on board, didn't reply to Indian misadventures in recent years, what would have been everyone's reaction.

Yes we were sleeping miss lead blind by patriotism ...

We were being told that politicians are the real problem but as soon as a genuine leadership appears armed forces put all its efforts to push him back and bring back the looters ...

With respect to indian threat ... What would have happened ? U r saying that out of threat of an outside we should start our guard as our master ?

I 100% agree with this.

We took a rotten corpse of a British political model and just tried to lazily run with it. Pakistan had a grand ideology with grand goals but lazy incompetent people to fulfil it, partly due to severe nepotism and corruption not allowing any meritocracy to survive. And then the insecurity of larping off of Europeans/Arabs prevented a unique model from forming.

We need a unique model that is formed in accordance to our specific context by people who do not have biases/insecurities towards the west or anything, we need a model that represents our unique requirements and aligns with our culture. Far too many insecure Arab/European wannabes, or rather simply too lazy to make effective changes for our context.

This starts with having a system of meritocracy based on loyalty and competency.

While all agreed in principle - technically other than disbanding the military and then letting anyone walk over - what else are the general rank and file who may not disagree with you at all but are not part of the power game have to do with it?

Moreover, if NOTHING on the armed forces is acceptable to the majority why the hell are people logging into Pakistan’s Defense Forum - its literally in the name buddy!!

If we cannot even discuss an aircraft’s characteristics without every other mai ka laal going on about the system the lets disband PDF altogether … band karo is munafiqat ko!!

U might be right. I agree that imran khan might not be the solution and he may destroy things further but he will be a democratic elected leader open to criticism and is replaceable...

If he do not perform we can bring someone else but not the crooks.

My brother support of imran khan is not for himself as a person but against the status quo. Right now he is the only person challenging the status quo. If we find a person better than him challenging the status quo atleast i will follow him.

Status quo means this system of elites which only supports rich, powerful and corrupts ...

Right now which is the biggest threat to sovereignty of Pakistan ? Is it a possible threat of indian invasion or a sovereign default, political chaos, ethnic divide and corrupt government ?

This is not hypocricy but reality ... If your family is dying of cancer then medicine is the most important part of the budget and not family dine out budget similarly these gadgets are important but Pakistan is dying due to these corrupt leaders and generals ...

What should be our priority right now ? To bring in political and economic stability or to showcase our f16s?
