Pakistan Cricket Board invites Bangladesh for short T20I series: Report

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is keen to bring back international cricket to the country. The cricket board has now invited Bangladesh for a short T20I series. Interestingly, Pakistan is expected to tour Bangladesh in July-August.
According to a report in Dawn, in a bid to revive cricket in Pakistan, PCB has sent an invitation to Bangladesh for two-match T20I series in May. PCB hosted the final of Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Lahore earlier this month. In the final many international players took part including Bangladesh’s Anamul Haque. Now after the successful conduct of PSL final, the board is looking for ways to invite international teams.
It was recently reported that International Cricket Council (ICC) would be sending a World XI team to Lahore in September to play a T20 international series.
Zimbabwe, Kenya and Afghanistan remain the only internationals team to tour Pakistan after the unfortunate 2009 terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore. However, last year after Lahore blasts Afghanistan’s proposed tour to country was postponed indefinitely. It will be interesting to whether, Bangladesh accepts the offer or not. After the first week of May, Bangladesh will travel to Ireland for a triangular series against hosts and New Zealand. The series will be followed by Champions Trophy in June.
