Why India is so concerned about Pakistan.

The article is plain wrong.

Both India and Pakistan use 'grandfather clauses' to get new reactors.
What Indo-US nuclear deal does is that it allows India to join the global nuclear trade. That means India can buy or sell reactors or nuclear parts/fuel from and to anybody.

Before this deal, India could only buy from Russia - under the grand father clauses. Its not as if we were not buying reactors before the Nuclear deal.

Similarly, Pakistan can buy reactors from China. The justification is exactly the same as what India used for buying from Russia before Indian exemption.

What Pakistan cannot do in the absence of its exemption from NSG, is buy reactors from any other country except China and neither can it buy nuclear parts or fuel from another country. It can not get involved in nuclear trade in any sort.

Actually, since India is not a signer of NPT, any US nuclear related company that want to work with India must still have permission from the DOE.

Actually, since India is not a signer of NPT, any US nuclear related company that want to work with India must still have permission from the DOE.

And now we dont have to be a signatory to NPT since NSG has given us exemption from it.
That is the reason we are finalizing Uranium purchase agreement with Australia and other countries.

DOE had a procedural stop before this in that no US entity could engage in nuclear trade without NSG approval. That hurdle is now removed.

Nothing like a cock up or something .. as someone already described it appropriately, pakistan is doing what India was doing in pre 2008 days .. purchase nuclear reactors from Russia in this case it is china .

But remember one thing, most of the nuclear tech comes from Japan and China can only export what it manufactures locally and not act as a front for pakistan to indulge in nuclear trade !

Can pakistan just go to open market and purchase the yellow cakes ? No ! PERIOD !

Just because you sign a nuclear deal it does not mean anything to us .You do not even have the basic infrastructure to look after your nuclear plants. You are even taking loans to build your own plants and you call us pitiful.

China just paid cash for US designs.

This is why they can make it or improve it if needed and sell it.

Chinese Cash is king these days.

Pakistan doesn't need someone to make the "cake". It can bake one if and when needed.
