dont deviate from discussion its about Turkey and SCO ..

sorry about it

Big changes will occur in a short amount of time in Turkey following the disruptions and CIA backed Gulen operation. Before forming an idea about the occurances i recommend everyone not of Turkish origin to watch and read the following.

To answer your question.
Turks are a patriotic, proud and fearless bunch, we are aware of our ancient civilizational background of our former empires that stretched most of the known world back in the ages - we percieve ourselves as one of the greatest nation and people to ever have set foot on this planet.
As i said, if solid evidence surfaces pointing to CIA intereference in the Gulen backed coup attempt, we won't hesitate and respond accordingly. Yes we are pragmatic, yes we have gained much from our decades old alliance with the West. But we are not traitors - our alliance is important because we gain from it, not because of our cultural affiliation with the West, because culturally we are NOT part of the West - we are so only economically and politically for pragmatic reasons.

Today every single Muslim nation has witnessed the tenacity and honor of the Turkish nation. Anyone who dares to overthrow their elected officials via unlawfal, unpopular coups will remember July 15th when the nation, when the people stopped an unlawful foreign backed coup attempt. Let this be a lesson to everyone who dares trample on the innocent anyone who dares to silence the cry of the people - you will face the wrath of the voice of the people. This trend we started, but we will not end - it will be an inspiration to the entire world - regardless of the mainstream media's fruitless efforts of demonizing Turkey and our democratic culture - they can go fock themselves. And we will grow even stronger, not a single flower was trampled on, on the night of 15 July, that's the culture we come from, not a single shop was ransacked, because on that night the people stood watch.

Turkey benefited from control of Bosporus Straits and the cold war. Russia is getting weaker. it will eventually join the West. at that point Turkey will be irrelevant

IMO proximity to the Middle East has to be a curse

Turkey has 70 million people. you have 250-300 million Arabs to your South. They are not entirely united. They are 65 million Iranians to your east.

Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia have the petro dollars to stop Turkish influence if you ever compete with them

Any move into Central Asia to unite with Turkish ethnic groups will be regarded by Russia and China with suspicion.

History repeats and ripples itself. Muslim heartland was under the protection of Turkey for a thousand years. Since the collapse of the Ottoman Empire the region hasn't seen peace for a single day. They know where the answer lies...

Turkey is carrying out a massive purge within its Air Force, it might request our F-16 pilots to fill the gap.
Getting rid of the proxy traitors might be a better description. These proxies are the best of the best in the history of the mankind..

In this Video with English subtitles Gulen tells his disciples to infiltrate the military.

To answer your question.

The coup was under way, our intelligence and political apparatus was perfectly aware of it for months, but manipulation - a tool utilized by the cunning - is not alien to Turkish deep state. We knew this day would come, we knew when it would come, all we did was preparing for it, to illustrate it to our people of their treachery, it was a dangerous game, but a necessary one. As Reis Erdogan says, we walk the streets with the white sheets of our kefen (shroud). To succeed we need to accept sacrifice - something we have mastered for centuries.

Our struggle of total independence hadn't ended in 1923 when we beat the foreign occupiers. It will end once we become a force to be reckoned with world-wide, once we can depend on ourselves. That day is nearing, this clearing is only a start.

Today every single Muslim nation has witnessed the tenacity and honor of the Turkish nation. Amin!! Compare this to a hypothetical scenario - the US authorities has declared that 911 will be out of service for 1 hour all over the country in the coming Friday evening..

I wish we could follow Turkey esp in this very aspect.
I can't but be jealous of proxies in Pak. At the least they carry out attack crossing mountains etc taking much hardship and use the means of your adversaries. Life isn't that easy for them. However, proxies in Turkey were receiving fat paychecks with all perks and privileges from the Turkish state. Moreover, they attacked with the weapons paid in full by the Turkish taxpayers..

Problem is that we have likes of these too but of course aint near to what U highlighted.

You cannot resolve the status of Kurds in your country. You want to protect all Muslims,

Even today Turkey is backward to USA and West. Who are going to protect from whom ? Turkey has been fanning the fires of war in Syria by backing the ISIS.

lot of countries are peaceful - Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, Algeria. they do not need your protection.

Turkey has been subjected to the proxy wars for the last 200 years. Now is the time to push them back one at a time. The best proxies are done within a couple of hours of resistance. Tide has verily turned. As for the Kurds, they are the folks who embraced the Ottoman Empire without any fights. PKK is primarily taking revenge on Kurds themselves. One must be living in a parallel world not to see that the entire ME is sitting on a time bomb to blast...

Its not in interest of NATO.. but if they still want who is stopping them?
Since when does news article determine how a countrys leaders forges their foreign policy ? Lol if you want to believe what news articles say then you might as well believe we will fight a nuclear war with Russia.
Turkey isn't going anywhere and nobody is kicking them out, suits nobody's interest. :pop:

Do you know, recently a top american official, Robin Rafael was arrested and released on the charges relating to spying for Pakistan.
Even Cuba had one of its spies arrested in U.S. doesn't mean Cuba is a global intelligence/spy network superpower. Lol even from countries do have spies, every country does. It just depends on the extent of each countries capabilities/world reach/technology/budget and geopolitical interests worldwide. So Pakistan doesn't have that deep of a spy network to uncover such a complex coup attempt in a big advanced country like Turkey.

sorry about it

Most of what you said is correct. However , Russia won't be joining the West anyone soon. It has always viewed itself as a different/distinct power independent of western powers. If it would have joined the West. it would be joined after we brought down the Soviet union. That was the closest it ever got to joining us. :)
So Turkey will still have its role in NATO

Do you know who Robin Rafael is and her level in the administration? We are not talking about your average Joe here.

denying Kurds the right to follow their own language is not a recipe for stability

I have news for you - the Ottoman Empire was a relic. forget it and move on with nation building.

Robin Raphel security clearance was revoked. Her home was searched by the FBI.

I've a news for you too. Turks are coming back in new forms and with renewed vigor. Turkish folks have just shown how to tear down the best of the best proxies, products of the sharpest imperialist minds the world has ever produced, in a couple of hours. Let it be the harbinger of the destruction for all other proxies in the ME, be it Kings or High Priests...

if Erdogan is thinking like you Turkey is going down the path of ruin and destruction
Did Kutubuddin Aybek or Babur Han or Sultan Alparsalan or Fatih Sultan Mehmet Han go down in the path of ruin and destruction? A very short glimpse of their motivation and energy and bravery were relived and re-displayed for a couple of hours when bare hands stopped the best German tanks...
