The increase in tax revenue is more than 470 billion !!! 1 % increase in GST is small part of it and GST in Pakistan is in VAT mode, commodities like vegetables etc ( used by poor ppl ) are exempted from GST

nope they are not..if u doubt me pick up a 5kilo ghee and see the GST label upon it.
also their is a new withholding tax of 4%
the rest of revenue increase is zero if we take the previous year target and only marginal 300 billion if we take the target acheived..150-200 billion is acheived by the growing econmy itself..

the point is that no new radicle change in taxation is seen, the same old sytem where rich dont pay taxes

who ever made the CNG desion for cars (i think somebody in musharraf era) was excellent desicion..why coz gas even if imported is atleast 25% cheaper than oil..
so we should convert all cars to gas to stop health problems and import gas instead of oil
instead we have some fools who think gas should be banned..if govt is ready to import oil whynot gas..
yes indeed u need a gas terminal but build it for Good sake?!

if u read the budget u will know that GST isnt the only tax on essential poor food commodities but other taxation is there too...mean while zero taxation on rich!..they completly did a U turn from there manefesto!

one last addition to those who think energy should run on gas..they are fools..gas is as precious as oil..coal should be used for energy
imported coal if we cant use local coal but gas should never be used where "alternative cheaper" is availble

now obviously wwe cant use coal in cars or domestic or in fertilizer sector and in some industires

but energy sector should be completly converted to gas..as imported gas or even new local gas will be expensive than imported/local coal
india uses coal, the world uses coal noone use gas..

infact gas is equivalent to oil
there is practically no difference between them other 20% price..both are clean sources(while coal isnt)
rich countries might go to gas/oil but we cant


stop wasting gas on power sector and start using coal for it..may coal gas in future
