I have always blame army in musharraf era , but now this is a fail of civil part to defend home land and there is always someone to fill up the GAP,

Next time if army dont fill it up then might be someone from outside... as GAPs are always filled by someone, if you study history...

yes and no Karan

they are only advising like the military of USA does and Indian army and RAW too.. they appraise the head of the government and finally its up to the government to make the decision (coming to this in the end). This is why Swat operation was launched after much delay but had popular support. Contrast it with Lal Masjid operation during the Gen Musharraf time which was although successful but lacked the civilian support as it was never sought and the resulting violence ate us

The role of agencies and military in Pakistani politics and polices is well known but its not unique to Pakistan either, what one can argue is the extent of it. With too many benefactors of 1857 mutiny in our political leadership, it is unfair to expect this political lot to think anything beyond themselves or their brood that leaves us with the biggest stakeholder in Pakistan to sometimes go beyond the advisory role but I wont absolve the civilian governments c completely. If they cant control the state institutions then they are not up to the job.

I think what's gonna happen is a week after the farce report from US/NATO the supply routes will be opened. New terms of engagements are already being defined and heavy taxation (which should have been done from the start) on supply trucks will be enforced. A diplomatic victory or not, everyone will have their own view about it.

The US wants India to be influential inside Afghanistan at Pakistan's expense, even though India has no genuine security interests in Afghanistan like Pakistan does, as it does not share a border with them. Whether the supply routes are opened or not, Pakistan will make sure that does not happen at any cost.
