The blockade is having a serious effect on Nato and the US.
The only route left is through central Asia. The US military is now preparing to shift more traffic along the roads, rail and air routes that run between the Baltic Sea and Afghanistan via the Caucasus and Central Asia - the so-called Northern Distribution Network.
The leaders in Krygyzstan are wanting to close the base near their capital as they are worried - just in case Iran and USA get excited and the result of this being Manas being bombed by Iran.
Islamabad need to remain adamant and strong at this junction. It is a game of patience - The USA need to realize by killing innocent soldiers to this extent Pakistan will no longer bend over backwards to assist with their WOT.
Why cant they wait till their infamous "official statement"? - then we can all make decisions when they release "their side of the story"?

its really unjust to just malign politicians and at the same time exonerating the army completely

nato is not stressed to a level of unbearable extent regarding the supplies. military hardware and other goods are being transited to afghanistan via air by using big cargo planes using pakistani airspace. the only problem is oil which is of a some importance to be reckon with but it isn't like that nato is going to succumb to pakistan pressure or something. the story is pakistan has played her cards now we have to see how mutual relations between pakistan and america are going to take shape

Perhaps you are right - what one has to take into account is now Pakistan has taken this stance the result of which is obvious - they must stick to their guns. Any future relations between the USA and Pakistan must be done with the mutual benefit of both parties. It is noted how the Americans are running around to 3rd parties such as Krygzstan and this will hopefully show the strength of negotiation Pakistan could have.
The USA will also realize how many friends they have at the moment and without doubt the building of bridges will be speeded up. The USA must show the remorse and unconditional condolences for their actions regarding the lost soldiers lives - when they show remorse then that can potential for building relations.

at the moment army want to cancel all the agreements which mushy the dog signed with Americans.
we want to make agreements on new terms.

PA could bring the stuff over and store it in a compound and charge the US damarrage for it.We need to hold on to our nerves on this one.

The shipping official's reference to NATO resorting to shipping water and fuel through air is even more interesting in light of Gillani's statement that Pakistan could also shut down the NATO air-bridge through Pakistani airspace ....

I do think that it is time that all intelligence and military cooperation between the US and Pakistan is made official and ratified by the Pakistani parliament, whether it is drone strikes, supply transit, intelligence &military cooperation/operations - and questions about 'hot pursuit' and ROE's along the Afghan -Pakistan border should be clearly addressed as well.
