Pakistan-Bangladesh trade volume to soon touch $1bn: envoy

If you guys want to make comparison between nations, here is the credible data :

But this data is also over simplistic since it doesnt consider minimum wage but GDP percapita. I have shown it will be extremely bias since I have shown minimum wage in Malaysia (lower than in Indonesia) and Australia in previous page which is not inline with their GDP per-capita figure.

Can we get back to topic please on BD-Pakistan trade relations?

So far:

1/ Fruit and potential meat exports from Pakistan to BD

2/ Collaboration in the IT Services field.

Any other ideas?

.
This is why I say we should fence the border fully from our side. All this confusion around demarcation and propaganda on illegal migration would stop immediately

Kindly explain sir.
You folks can't even change the border pillar markings

Many border pillars from your side has east Pakistan written on it .
The border is perfectly demarcated to be honest

Bangladesh’s per capita income rises to $2,824

Thank you for sharing your belief, but unfortunately your belief do not matter in the calculation of Bangladeshs gdp, I understand its hard to believe and thats why the world says Bangaladesh is an economic miracle.

Lets say, the numbers are cooked up for the sake of the argument, there is IMF and worldbank working in our country and they are doing their calculations as well. Let them question it! Right? Why are they not doing it? They are not a subsidiary of our government nor we have the might to pressure them to publish whatever we want.

See Bangladesh exports twice as much as pakistan our forex reserve is more than 4 times that of pakistan our debt to gdp is significantly lower than pakistan, our currency taka is equal to 2.25 pakistani rupee. These are facts, Not cooked up, Alhamdulillah.

What I wanted to say, you took it the wrong way, I said your cities look to good for a poor country. Surely, Islamabad looks like european cities, how you have made it? by taking huge loans maybe? If you spend lavisly on making cities that are flashy thats your choice. But if you ask people to believe that because you have flashy cities you are not poor that is a problem. Bangladesh is 3k per capita income which is still at the bottom of the world and our cities reflect our income, on the other hand pakistani cities look to good for a country of around 2k per capital income. Does that mean because you have better looking cities you are economically prosperous? No obviously!

We are growing fast and insallah our cities will look good as well soon. but at the same time our cities will always have place for the less fortunate and we should not be ashamed to show our slums to the world as we still have to go a long way a country with less than 3k per capita would have slums and surely would not look like europe, and we are not trying to be.

Your minister's change your per capita twice a month. Who is going to believe them?

Bangladesh began a trend way back to inflate the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate.

https://www.aliexpress.com/

It started during the tenure of the immediate past planning minister.

The World Bank does not accept the growth due to lack of its credibility. But it is true that we cannot say our economy is doing bad.

Unfortunately, the fascination about GDP growth among our policymakers has led to yet another questionable number for the fiscal year 2019-20 (FY2020). Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) has recently published the provisional data of the economy for FY2020. This shows the progress of various sectors and the GDP for the past fiscal year. The provisional GDP growth for FY2020 is estimated to be 5.24 percent. During a time when the whole world is facing the ravage of the ongoing Covid-19 and economies around the world have collapsed irrespective of their size and phases of development, Bangladesh's growth number is not only astonishing but also misleading.

I can post many articles where WB and IMF don't believe your numbers. Stop inflating your GDP or changing it every month. You have seen the result how how your currency went from 85 to 95 in a week when not artificially held.

We all know why the ministers inflate GDP numbers.

This all comes by order from command central in New Delhi. so they obey. AL being in charge as Delhi's lapdog and exploiter-in-charge, has to look extra good. They will do everything possible to discourage local industry while keeping Indian Banya-led industry alive and well...

These Indian chamchas had zero to do with the Apparel revolution, however they are first in line to derive advantage and faida from it. And taking credit for it too.

There is a huge sucking sound coming from all AL people collectively making kiss-a$$ pucker faces looking toward India with noses being BROWN....AL collectively exploiting the entire nation of Bangladesh per Indian whim, even selectively making changes to tariff schedule to ease Indian exports to Bangladesh market while doing the exact opposite to Pakistani exports.

AL may talk a good game using lip-service (just like their Indian Sanghi masters) however no way, no-how are they going to do anything to increase trade and imports from Pakistani shores....

Good call, Pakistan indeed needs to invest in producing products required for under water survival to export to Bangladesh as the latter would be under water by 2030.
Before doing some charity in flooded Bangladesh, I suggest Pakistanis learn to swim. I heard that even knee-deep water is too deep for you not to cry out in fear.

Our rivers and water is swarmed with crocodiles seeking to consume pot-bellied persons found in the country west of India. Too much eating and too little working!!

Can you just give it up dude?

Latest IMF figures prove that BD was not lying or getting its estimates wrong.

Screenshot 2022-06-21 at 18.11.58.png

Remember IMF publishes calendar year data and BD's fiscal is July 1st to June 30th.

So if we assume that growth was roughly equal in each half of the years 2019 and 2020 then we come to a number of (8.1 + 3.5) / 2 = 5.8.

Ok, BD growth would have picked up in the latter half of 2020 and so we expect the growth for BD fiscal 2019/2020 to be down to around 5%, which is pretty much bang-on with BD government figures.

See you are missing what I wanted to say that we should not fight and brag on our economies as we are both at the bottom be it 2k or 3k we are both starving and need to lookbat what policies our government is taking to make the lives of poor people better. The rich will always live lavishly and regardless where they live. My point was to spend on more on important sectors where it will benefit the poor and do not kick them outside city just so the city looks better.

On the dollar againt taka, our central government always try to stabilize same as pre imran khan government in pakistan. I personally did not like this thing that IK did, mybe he did because of imf pressure. Its an unfair world where this monetary system of the west is a sham, here the US controls the moneyflow. Some degree of control is necessary and free floating currency is a dream of an utopia of the fair world we do not have.

Pakistan is a source of cheap raw materials and foodstuffs for BD.

Cannot see it becoming a valuable market for BD exports in areas like home electronics and pharma as it will just remain too poor with it's very low per capita GDP growth.

It has a good chance of exporting many billions a year to BD by 2030 if it can provide the right products that BD economy needs.
tbh it depends on the market. If we're talking about local wage earners, then yep, it'd be costly. However, you have a good shot at eating into the market of households who get remittances in foreign currency. Better that BD, Indonesia, etc export to them than China or Vietnam. Likewise, I think BD's wages will gradually go up and, ideally, you'd shift to more critical technologies (e.g., wafers). If I were BD I'd even consider investing in Pakistan and setting up manufacturing sites for your electronics brands.

Whatever you guys say, our great economist @UKBengali will not accept it. His target is now $1000 billion GDP by 2032-2033. He will reach this figure whatever may be the amount of ink is necessary.

He will bring this figure from the sky if needed.

Now, use your logarithmic knowledge to calculate the rate of GDP growth in % if BD is to achieve that fictitious figure.
